How Our Bureaucrats Celebrated Chandrayaan-3 Success!

Indian Masterminds Stories

23 August, 2023, 6.04 pm! The exact time when history was created. The hopes and dreams of 1.40 billion people finally came true, when Chandrayaan-3 touched down on the lunar South Pole. Lander Vikram landed there in its scheduled time. And India’s Mission Moon finally became a mission accomplished!

It is a giant leap for India’s space programme, making India the first country in the world to land on the south pole of the Moon. Plus, it has propelled the nation to an exclusive club of four – along with Russia, USA and China – to land on the uncharted surface.

This great success of soft-landing on the Moon led to an atmosphere of excitement and celebration across the country. Indian Space Research Agency (ISRO) has again established itself as one of the leading space agencies in the world. In 2008, India’s first lunar mission Chandrayaan-1 detected evidence of the presence of water on the moon while orbiting it. In 2019, Chandrayaan-2 crashed while making soft landing on the surface of the moon. But, NASA discovered the debris of its Lander. Chandrayaan-3 is the follow-up mission of Chandrayaan-2 with the primary objective to perform a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface, which has been accomplished. As the countdown began for descent and landing, there were palpable tension in ISRO, which finally gave way to eruption of shouts of joy and clapping!

That was ISRO celebrating its success. Let us now see how bureaucrats celebrated this milestone in India’s space research.

IAS Association saluted the scientists and called them true heroes.

2009 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, Mr Awanish Sharan, shared a video of ISRO celebration, where ISRO chief S Somnath is seen dancing with fellow scientists.

The spontaneous reaction of 2013-batch IAS officer and DM of UP’s Mirzapur district, Ms. Divya Mittal went viral. She was watching Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing on the moon on her mobile and couldn’t stop the outpouring of happiness as soon as the landing took place.

IPS Association congratulated ISO and posted on X, “We are on the moon.”

IRTS officer J Sanjay Kumar posted an amazing cartoon of earth and moon celebrating Rakshabandhan:

Celebrating the success, lAS officer Dr. Manish Narnaware gave information about the Project Director of Chandrayaan 3.

Bihar cadre IAS officer Kundan Kumar said: “India is on the Moon. Witnessed & Celebrated this Golden Moment with hundreds of Children from Purnea in the Auditorium.Heartiest Congratulations to ISRO for this unprecedented feat. Jai Hind.”

IAS officer Manuj Jindal, who is CEO Zila Parishad, Thane, posted on X, “Normally it’s all but the journey, but today it is all about the destination!! India on the Moon.”

Senior IAS officer Sonal Goel called Chandrayaan3’s soft landing a greatest comeback in the history. She was signalling towards Chandrayaan2’s hard landing.

IAS Rajendra Ratnoo congratulated ISRO and posted his picture with ISRO chairman S Somnath.

IFS Himanshu Tyagi posted an interesting image and said that it’s not a cricket match. It’s Chandrayaan 3, while people gathered in a big way for watching its soft landing.

IAS C R Kharsan wrote about media houses that covered the Chandrayaan 3 in a big way.

Senior IFS officer D T Vasavada shared an amazing image of ISRO and the National Emblem sign symbolically carved out on the surface of the moon.
