206 Officer Trainees Pledged to Donate Eyes on 64th Academy Day Celebration at LBSNAA

Outdoor activities were held in the morning, after which, an eye donation camp was organised in collaboration with AIIMS Rishikesh. 206 OTs along with faculty and staff members pledged their eyes.

On 1 September 2022, the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) marked its 64 years of existence, since it started in 1959. The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Officer Trainees (OTs), faculty members and staff, as it marks the time when the prestigious institution, which trains and produces the pillars of our nation, was started by amalgamating the IAS Training School, Delhi and the IAS Staff College, Shimla in 1959.

This year, the officer trainees from the 97th Foundation Course started the celebration with an outdoor activity where they were seen practicing yoga and other fitness activities.

Apart from the regular classes and morning activity, the Officer Trainees of 97th FC, led by the Director, Faculty and staff of Academy, took part in an eye donation pledge in the true spirit of Sheelam Param Bhushnam. An eye donation camp was organised in the Academy in collaboration with AIIMS Rishikesh. More than 206 Officer Trainees, Faculty and staff of the Academy led by its Director, pledged to donate their eyes.

The staff of the Academy made a presentation on ‘My Vision for the Academy in Amrit Kaal’. A cultural programme featuring Jaunsari dance by staff was also organised.

Director Srinivas R Katikithala thanked the faculty and staff for taking the Academy to newer heights during the last one year and said that the staff of this Academy are the true contributors behind the success.

The Director, the faculty and the staff also remembered the contribution of all the alumni of the Academy who are working tirelessly for our country.
