New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved several key decisions regarding central deputation tenures of senior officers across various departments. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued orders on Monday reflecting repatriations, curtailments, and tenure extensions under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Sachindra Kumar Patnaik (IRSS:1997) Repatriated Prematurely

Sachindra Kumar Patnaik, serving as Executive Director (North Zone) at Food Corporation of India (FCI), Noida, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre on administrative grounds. He was on a five-year deputation term since January 2023, which was originally set to run until 2028.

The DoPT order also noted that an extended cooling-off condition has been imposed. His repatriation was based on a proposal from the Department of Food and Public Distribution, duly approved by the ACC.

Mrithinjai Srikanthan (IRS-C&IT:2013) Deputation Curtailment

The central deputation tenure of Mrithinjai Srikanthan, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, has been curtailed prematurely. Srikanthan, who joined the post on February 18, 2025, was appointed for a four-year term, but the ACC has approved a reduction of tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Naval Kishor (IFS:2003) Deputation Extended in Revenue Department

In contrast, the tenure of Naval Kishor, Director in the Department of Revenue, has been extended by one year, up to October 28, 2026, or until further orders. Kishor was initially appointed in October 2018 for a five-year term. His tenure had already been extended in May 2023 by two years and is now being extended further.

Ashish Gupta (IRSME:2014) Gets Two-Year Extension in Rural Development

The central deputation tenure of Ashish Gupta, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, has been extended by two years beyond December 30, 2025, up to December 30, 2027, or until further orders.

These changes reflect the government’s ongoing administrative realignments to optimise human resource deployment in key departments under the Central Staffing Scheme.
