Raipur: Amit Shah, Union Home and Cooperation Minister, inaugurated the ‘Shaheed Veer Gundadhur Seva Dera’ in Netanar village of Bastar district in Chhattisgarh. The public welfare centre has been established within a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp premises.
The visit marked Shah’s first trip to Bastar following significant reductions in Maoist violence in the region.
Centre Promotes Development and Self-Reliance in Bastar
Addressing the event, Amit Shah described the initiative as an important step toward development, employment generation, and self-reliance in the region.
He said Bastar is now entering a new phase of stability and growth, where government efforts are focused on ensuring that development benefits reach the last mile.
Tribute to Security Forces and Martyrs
During the programme, Shah paid tribute to security personnel who sacrificed their lives to restore peace and stability in Bastar.
He reiterated that the sacrifices made by security forces in establishing order in the region will always be remembered.
Meeting with Families of Martyrs
Amit Shah also met the families of security personnel martyred in a Maoist attack in Bijapur, including Kalendra Prasad Nayak and Pawan Kumar Mandavi.
He expressed condolences, interacted with the families, and assured them of full administrative and financial support from the government.
Security Forces Praised for Their Role in Peace Restoration
The Home Minister also interacted with deployed security personnel, appreciating their courage, dedication, and service in challenging conditions.
He said their efforts have been crucial in bringing peace and stability to the Bastar region.
Strong Government Commitment to Bastar’s Transformation
Vishnu Deo Sai, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, along with senior state leaders including Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma and other ministers, attended the event.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the state will never forget the bravery and sacrifice of its security personnel and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of martyrs’ families.
He added that Bastar is now moving toward a new era defined by peace, trust, and development.
