Raipur: In a significant development push for southern Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced development projects worth ₹465 crore for Dhamtari during the “Sushasan Tihar” (Good Governance Festival) program held on Sunday. The announcement includes 102 development works aimed at strengthening core infrastructure, public utilities, and civic amenities across the district.
The event was part of the statewide governance initiative aimed at improving administrative responsiveness and delivering public services more efficiently.
Breakdown of ₹465 Crore Development Projects
Out of the total announced package, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones and inaugurated multiple projects:
- ₹423.52 crore for 52 new infrastructure works (foundation laying)
- ₹41.50 crore for 50 completed projects (inauguration)
These projects collectively aim to improve road connectivity, drinking water systems, urban infrastructure, and public service delivery in the district.

Key Infrastructure Announcements for Dhamtari
Several high-impact projects were individually highlighted during the announcement:
- Four-lane road construction from Ambedkar Chowk to Rudri Chowk
- Construction of an intake well for improved drinking water supply in Dhamtari
- “Gaurav Path” development from Rani Durgavati Chowk to Bilai Mata Temple
- ₹1.5 crore allocated for Girls Higher Secondary School building in Kurud
- Financial approval for PM SHRI Swami Atmanand School upgrades
These initiatives are expected to significantly enhance mobility, water availability, and educational infrastructure in the region.
Focus on Governance and Public Welfare
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the state government is working with a focus on transparent governance, quick grievance redressal, and citizen-centric administration.
He highlighted that the Sushasan Tihar campaign (running from May 1 to June 10) is being conducted across villages through cluster-level camps, where public issues are resolved on the spot.
The government has also undertaken a special drive for revenue-related cases, reportedly benefiting thousands of citizens.
Welfare Schemes and Agricultural Support
The Chief Minister reiterated several key welfare measures being implemented in the state:
- Procurement of paddy at ₹3100 per quintal to support farmers
- Financial assistance to women under the “Mahtari Vandan Yojana”
- Expansion of welfare coverage for rural and marginalized communities
He also noted that women in large numbers, including in tribal regions, are benefiting from state welfare schemes.
Digital Governance and Upcoming Initiatives
Sai also announced upcoming governance reforms, including the launch of a Chief Minister Helpline, which will allow citizens to register grievances digitally and receive time-bound resolutions.
Additionally, the government is promoting:
- PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme
- Electricity bill relief programs for economically weaker households
These initiatives aim to reduce financial burden and improve service accessibility.

Welfare Distribution and Public Engagement
During the event, the Chief Minister also:
- Distributed Ayushman Bharat cards under health schemes
- Handed over keys of houses under PM Awas Yojana
- Distributed food kits to tuberculosis patients
- Provided tricycles and assistive devices to persons with disabilities
He also inaugurated exhibitions and reviewed departmental stalls showcasing ongoing welfare programs.
Administrative Presence and Key Officials
The program was attended by several dignitaries, including:
- MPs and MLAs from the region
- District and divisional administrative officials
- Police and civic body representatives
District officials reported that over 9,350 applications were received under the campaign, with more than 5,300 already resolved.
The ₹465 crore development announcement marks a major infrastructure expansion for Dhamtari under the Sushasan Tihar initiative. With a focus on roads, water supply, education, and digital governance, the state government aims to accelerate regional development and improve public service delivery across Chhattisgarh.
