Raipur: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched the “Next Gen CG Dial-112” emergency response service in Chhattisgarh, flagging off more than 400 advanced emergency response vehicles and 32 mobile forensic vans at a programme held in Raipur.

The initiative aims to strengthen public safety, emergency response, and crime investigation systems across the state.

Statewide Expansion of Dial-112 Emergency Network

The upgraded Dial-112 service has now been expanded to all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh, ensuring faster response during emergencies such as:

  • Road accidents
  • Medical emergencies
  • Women and child safety incidents
  • Fire and rescue situations

Earlier operational in 16 districts, the service now offers statewide coverage under a unified emergency response system.

Integrated Emergency System with Single-Number Access

The new system is based on the “Ekke Number, Sabbo Bar” (One Number for All) model, integrating:

  • Police services
  • Fire emergency response
  • Medical assistance

Citizens can access help via multiple channels including:

  • Phone calls and SMS
  • WhatsApp and chatbot
  • Web portal and email
  • SOS-112 mobile application

Officials said the system will ensure 24×7 emergency support with real-time tracking and faster response.

Advanced Technology in 400+ Emergency Vehicles

More than 400 newly inducted emergency vehicles are equipped with modern technology, including:

  • GPS-based tracking systems
  • Smart communication devices
  • PTZ and dash cameras
  • Mobile NVR systems
  • Solar backup units

These features enable live monitoring of incidents and faster coordination between control rooms and field teams.

Launch of 32 Mobile Forensic Vans for Faster Justice

Amit Shah also flagged off 32 mobile forensic vans under the “Science on Wheels – Towards Faster Justice” initiative.

Each van is equipped with advanced forensic tools such as:

  • Fingerprint detection systems
  • Narcotics testing kits
  • Ballistic examination tools
  • Gunshot residue testing equipment
  • Digital forensic support systems
  • High-quality imaging devices

Officials said these vans will enable on-site evidence collection and preliminary investigation, reducing delays in criminal investigations.

Strengthening Crime Investigation and Justice Delivery

The mobile forensic units are expected to:

  • Speed up evidence collection
  • Reduce dependency on laboratory delays
  • Improve accuracy of investigations
  • Support evidence-based policing

Authorities said this will enhance transparency and efficiency in the criminal justice system.

Vision for a Safer and Technology-Driven Chhattisgarh

The government said the combined rollout of Dial-112 vehicles and forensic vans will significantly improve emergency response and law enforcement capabilities in the state.

Amit Shah emphasized that the initiative reflects a commitment to building a safer, faster, and technology-enabled public safety system in Chhattisgarh.
