Patna: The Bihar Cooperation Department has approved financial upgradation under the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) scheme for 38 employees.
The benefit covers employees who have completed 10, 20 and 30 years of satisfactory service. The department issued the formal order on August 14, 2026, following recommendations from its Departmental Screening Committee.
Screening Committee Clears Long-Pending Benefit
The decision came during a high-level meeting of the Departmental Screening Committee chaired by Rajnish Kumar Singh, IAS, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Bihar.
Senior officials from different departments participated in the meeting and reviewed the cases before recommending the financial upgradation.
The move provides a long-awaited career-linked financial benefit to eligible employees of the Cooperation Department.

Employees From Three Cadres Covered
The approved MACP benefit applies to employees belonging to:
- Cooperative Extension Officer cadre
- Clerk cadre
- Peon cadre
The financial upgradation is linked to the length of satisfactory service, providing eligible employees with the benefits prescribed under the applicable MACP provisions.
Senior Officials Participate in Review
The committee included Vidhubhushan Choudhary, Additional Secretary, Industries Department; Abdul Rab Khan, Joint Secretary, Cooperation Department; Mukesh Kumar Agrawal, Deputy Director, Agriculture Directorate; Nikesh Kumar, Joint Registrar (Marketing); and Babu Raja, Joint Registrar.
Special invitees included Ram Naresh Pandey, Additional Registrar (Administration), Sanjay Kumar, Joint Registrar (Audit), and Under Secretaries Avadhesh Kumar and Rabindra Kumar Verma.
The committee’s recommendations paved the way for the department to issue the formal order.

For government employees, MACP provides financial progression when regular career advancement or promotion does not take place within the prescribed period.
The latest order is therefore significant for employees who have completed long periods of service in the Cooperation Department.
