Patna: The Bihar government has transferred six police officers, including five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, in a major police reshuffle announced on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The changes involve key positions in law and order, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), district policing and the Bihar Special Armed Police.
According to a notification issued by the state Home Department, the reshuffle includes the appointment of senior IPS officer Ratna Sanjay as Additional Director General (ADG) of Law and Order. Other significant changes include the posting of Navjot Simi as SP, CID, Kiran Kumar Gorakh as SP of Arwal and Chandraprakash as SP, Patna Central.
Ratan Sanjay Appointed ADG Law and Order
Mr Sanjay, a 1998-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the ADG of Law and Order in Bihar. He recently returned from central deputation and had been awaiting a new posting.
Along with his primary responsibility, Sanjay will hold the additional charge of ADG, Prohibition and the State Narcotics Control Bureau. Following the reshuffle, Nirmal Kumar Azad has been relieved of the additional charge of the Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Department.

K. Suhita Anupam Gets Weaker Sections Portfolio
K. Suhita Anupam, also 1998 batch ips officer, has been appointed as the ADG of Weaker Sections. She was previously serving as ADG of Law and Order, a position now assigned to Ratna Sanjay.
The change is among the senior-level postings announced as part of the latest reshuffle in the Bihar Police administration.
Navjot Simi Appointed SP, CID
2018 batch IPS officer Navjot Simi, who was serving as the Superintendent of Police of Arwal district, has been transferred to Patna and appointed as SP of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Her transfer has led to a change in the leadership of Arwal district, with Kiran Kumar Gorakh Jadhav taking over as its new SP. He was previously serving at Raj Bhavan as the Governor’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC).
Chandraprakash Appointed Patna Central SP
2019 batch IPS officer Chandraprakash has been appointed as the new SP of Patna Central. He was previously serving as the Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-10 (BSAP-10) in Patna.
His appointment comes as part of the changes in key policing positions in the state capital.
Mamta Kalyani Becomes Commandant of BSAP-10
Mamta Kalyani, a Bihar Police Service officer of 2005 batch, who was serving as the City SP (Central) in Patna, has been appointed as the Commandant of BSAP-10, Patna.
Her transfer completes the changes involving the leadership of Patna Central and the armed police unit.
