Patna: Bihar has expanded its Chief Minister’s Educational Tour Scheme to include major sports facilities, giving selected students of Classes 6 to 12 an opportunity to see the state’s modern sports infrastructure first-hand.
Students will visit the Pataliputra Sports Complex in Patna, State Sports Academy in Rajgir and the International Cricket Stadium in Rajgir as part of the educational tours.
The initiative aims to connect school education with sports by helping students understand modern training facilities, sporting activities and the opportunities available in the sector.
Students to Explore Bihar’s Sports Infrastructure
The inclusion of major sports venues will give students practical exposure to the facilities being developed to support athletes and improve sporting performance.
Through these visits, students will learn how professional training systems work and gain a better understanding of the infrastructure available for different sports in Bihar.
The government also expects the programme to increase students’ interest in sports and encourage young people to consider sporting careers.

Sports Minister Highlights Youth Participation
Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh said children should learn not only through books but also through direct experiences. She said the inclusion of major sports complexes in the Chief Minister’s Educational Tour Scheme would help connect young people with sports and encourage sporting talent.
According to her, Bihar is developing a new sporting environment, with school students expected to play an important role in this transformation.
Rajgir Facilities to Offer Practical Exposure
Sports Department Secretary Deepak Anand said visits to the Pataliputra Sports Complex, State Sports Academy and International Cricket Stadium would allow students to closely understand Bihar’s sports infrastructure and training arrangements.
He said such educational visits can build curiosity and confidence among students while encouraging them to explore sports as a career option.
Boost to School-Level Sports Culture
The initiative is also expected to help strengthen sports culture in schools and create greater awareness about opportunities in the sector. Direct exposure to modern facilities could help students identify their interests and motivate emerging sporting talent.
By bringing sports infrastructure into the educational tour programme, Bihar is seeking to make students more familiar with the state’s growing sporting ecosystem while encouraging wider participation in sports.
