On Thursday 13 January, the Central government approved the six-month tenure extension of Odisha Chief Secretary Surest Mahapatra. He is a 1986-batch IAS officer and now will be retiring from the Government service on August 31, 2022.
On December 31, 2021, the State Government had written to the Ministry of Personnel for extension of Mahapatra’s tenure by six months beyond his normal date of superannuation – February 28, 2022.
