Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022, Kanpur Police Commissioner and 1994 batch IPS officer Asim Arun surprised everyone by announcing VRS. He is likely to enter politics and contest assembly elections. Meanwhile, a picture of him with BJP Rajya Sabha member and retired Director General of Police Brijlal is going viral on social media.
Asim Arun reached the residence of BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh on Sunday morning and met him. After the meeting, Asim said that he has taken the blessings of the state president.
If reports are to be believed then BJP can make him candidate from Kannauj Sadar seat. But some reports are suggesting that he could be candidate of BJP from Unnao vidhansabha seat.
