New Delhi: The government has posted four officers from the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) as Deputy Secretaries in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on a deputation basis.
The officers have been posted for a four-year period, bringing their experience in indirect tax administration to key responsibilities within the CBIC.
The four officers are:
- Ms Manu Panwar
- Amit Kumar Gupta
- Ms Nisha Verma
- Sanjeet Singh
The postings are part of the administrative deployment of Group A IRS (C&IT) officers. The CBIC’s Directorate General of Human Resource Development maintains official records related to postings, transfers, deputation and the e-disposition of IRS (C&IT) officers.
Four-Year Deputation Tenure
According to the posting details, all four officers will serve as Deputy Secretaries in the CBIC on deputation for four years.
Deputation allows officers from their parent service to take up assignments in another government organisation or department for a specified period while bringing their administrative and professional experience to the new role.
The four-year tenure will give the officers an opportunity to contribute to the functioning of the CBIC, which is responsible for administering key areas of indirect taxation, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), customs duties and central excise.

Officers Named for the CBIC Assignment
The four officers named for the deputation are Manu Panwar, Amit Kumar Gupta, Nisha Verma and Sanjeet Singh.
Their appointment as Deputy Secretaries adds experienced IRS (C&IT) officers to the CBIC’s administrative setup. The official CBIC system also maintains dedicated records for IRS (C&IT) officers serving on deputation and their posting details.
The postings will remain in effect for four years, subject to applicable government service and deputation rules.
