Centre Approves Appointment of 16 Officers as Joint Secretaries Across Ministries; IAS, IRS, IRPS Officers Among Appointees – Check List Here

New Delhi: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of 16 officers to the rank of Joint Secretary and Joint Secretary-equivalent positions across various ministries and departments of the Government of India. The official order was issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday.

The appointments include officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and other All India and Central Services such as IRS, IRPS, IRTS, IOFS, ISS, and IA&AS, among others. Out of the 16 appointees, six are IAS officers, while others belong to allied services, reflecting the government’s effort to ensure a balanced representation from multiple cadres.

List of Appointments

Mr Sonal Bajaj, IRS (C&IT:1998) – Appointed as Director (Finance), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL), under the Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai, for a tenure of five years or until further orders.

Mr Jai Prakash Pandey, IRPS (2003) – Appointed as Joint Director General (JS level), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, for a combined tenure of seven years up to February 2027.

Mr Brij Mohan Mishra, IAS (UT:2008) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, for a tenure of five years up to November 2026.

Mr Neeraj Kharwal, IAS (UD:2007) – Appointed as Managing Director (JS level), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), Department of Commerce, for a tenure of five years.

Mr Sudeep Shrivastava, IRSSE (2001) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, for a tenure of five years.

Mr Siljo V.K., ISS (2004) – Appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG), Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), under the Ministry of Electronics & IT, for a tenure of five years.

Mr Manish Tiwari, IRTS (1995) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), under the Department of Food & Public Distribution, till his superannuation in September 2029.

Mr Lokesh Kumar Sharma, IOFS (1998) – Appointed as Executive Director, Food Corporation of India (FCI), Department of Food & Public Distribution, for a tenure of five years.

Ms. Hema Jaiswal, ISS (2004) – Appointed as Executive Director, Food Corporation of India (FCI), for a tenure of five years.

Mr Harsh Mangla, IAS (JH:2008) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, for a tenure of five years up to January 2027.

Mr Gaya Prasad, ISS (1996) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, till July 2028.

Ms. Shruti Singh, IAS (PB:2004) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, for a tenure of five years.

Ms. Roli Shukla Malge, IA&AS (2002) – Appointed as Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer (FA & CAO), Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Ministry of Labour & Employment, for five years.

Mr Rajendra Kumar Agrawal, IRPS (2000) – Appointed as Additional Secretary (JS level), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), under the Department of Personnel & Training, till his superannuation in September 2030.

Mr Jai Prakash Shivhare, IAS (GJ:2002) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, for a tenure of five years.

Mr Vikas Gupta, IAS (HY:2001) – Appointed as Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), under the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, for a tenure of five years.

Key Highlights

The appointments cover ministries including Commerce, Civil Aviation, Electronics & IT, Health, Home Affairs, and Education.

The reshuffle aims to infuse fresh administrative leadership across crucial departments dealing with trade, technology, aviation safety, and public distribution systems.
