Dhamtari: The Chhattisgarh government has announced a major set of development initiatives for Dhamtari district, marking a significant push for regional infrastructure, education, and social development. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, addressing a large public gathering in Gram Chhati, declared that the process to grant Nagar Panchayat status to Chhati has been officially initiated.
The announcement was made during the 55th Central Convention of the Chandranahu (Chandrakar) Kurmi-Kshatriya Samaj held at the agricultural produce market premises in Chhati, where the Chief Minister attended as the chief guest.
Chhati to Be Developed as Nagar Panchayat
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced the administrative initiation to upgrade Gram Chhati into a Nagar Panchayat. The move is expected to accelerate urban development, improve civic infrastructure, and enhance local governance in the region.
The announcement was widely welcomed by thousands of attendees, who expressed their approval during the event.
New School Building and Road Project Approved
In a major boost to education and connectivity, the Chief Minister also announced:
- Construction of a new Higher Secondary School building in Chhati
- Development of a new road connecting Chhati to Jhuranwagao
These projects aim to improve educational infrastructure and strengthen rural connectivity in the region.
Social Infrastructure Boost: Community Hall in Nava Raipur
To support social and cultural development, CM Sai announced that land will be allotted in Nava Raipur for the construction of a modern community building for the Chandranahu society.
He praised the historical contributions of the community and highlighted the ideals of great personalities such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as guiding inspirations for nation-building and public service.
Focus on Education, Youth and Social Progress
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that education, discipline, and social unity are essential for the progress of any society.
He highlighted the significant contributions of the Chandranahu society in agriculture, administration, politics, business, and public service. Book Release and Presence of Prominent Leaders
As part of the cultural segment of the event, the Chief Minister released the book “Adbhut Tulsi Charitayanam”, which focuses on the community’s literary and cultural heritage.
A detailed annual report of the organization was also presented by its central president Dinesh Chandrakar, highlighting 55 years of social work and organizational development.
