Chhattisgarh Partners with Google India to Launch AI-Powered Education Initiative for 2 Lakh Teachers

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced a major step toward integrating artificial intelligence into the state’s education system after holding a high-level meeting with representatives of Google India at the CM House in Raipur.

The meeting included senior officials such as Sanjay Jain, Head of Google for Education India, and Rakesh Ranjan, Public Policy Head of Google India. The initiative aims to transform Chhattisgarh into a hub of knowledge, skills, and innovation.

AI-Enabled Education Mission Launched as Pilot Project

The state government has launched an AI-enabled Education Campaign, which will begin as a pilot project in Raipur before being expanded across Chhattisgarh.

Under this initiative:

  • AI-based learning tools will be introduced in schools
  • Digital platforms will enhance classroom teaching
  • Teachers will be connected with modern technologies
  • Learning outcomes will be improved through interactive education methods

Google India will provide its digital education platforms free of cost to support the initiative.

Training of Over 2 Lakh Teachers Planned

A major component of the program includes large-scale teacher training. More than 2 lakh teachers across the state will be trained in AI tools and digital learning methods.

Key highlights include:

  • First phase workshop for 200 teachers
  • Practical training in AI-based teaching tools
  • Focus on improving classroom effectiveness
  • Enhancing digital literacy among educators

Officials said the aim is to make teaching more efficient, engaging, and technology-driven.

Focus on Student-Centric Smart Learning

The initiative is designed to make education more interactive and skill-oriented for students. With AI integration, students are expected to benefit through:

  • Improved critical thinking skills
  • Enhanced digital and technical abilities
  • Better preparation for future job markets
  • More engaging and smart learning environments

The government believes this will help students become globally competitive.

Vision to Make Chhattisgarh a Knowledge Hub

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the long-term goal is to establish Chhattisgarh as a knowledge-driven and technologically empowered state, ensuring that every student has access to modern and quality education.

He emphasized that AI integration in education will prepare students for future challenges and emerging global opportunities.

Alignment with National Education Policy and Digital India

The initiative aligns with:

  • National Education Policy (NEP) 2020
  • Digital India Mission

The goal is to provide inclusive, modern, and high-quality education to every student in the state using advanced digital infrastructure.
