Raipur: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is intensifying rehabilitation efforts for youth who have left Maoist activities and returned to the mainstream. The state is ensuring that these individuals receive essential documents, welfare benefits, and healthcare support to help them rebuild their lives with dignity.

Focus on Rehabilitation and Mainstream Integration

The state administration is prioritizing the reintegration of rehabilitated youth into society by providing them access to key government services. Officials said the goal is to help them lead a stable and respectful life while becoming self-reliant.

The government is actively linking them with welfare schemes and simplifying administrative processes to ensure quick access to benefits.

Essential Documents Provided on Priority

As part of the rehabilitation program, the government is ensuring that beneficiaries receive essential identification and welfare documents without delays, including:

  • Ration cards
  • Aadhaar cards
  • Access to other government welfare schemes

These steps are aimed at strengthening their social security and enabling seamless access to public services.

Ayushman Cards Ensure Free Healthcare Coverage

A major focus of the rehabilitation initiative is healthcare security. The government is issuing Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana cards to rehabilitated youth, enabling them to receive cashless treatment at approved hospitals.

Beneficiaries are also being covered under state health schemes, including:

  • Free treatment up to ₹5 lakh for BPL families
  • Medical assistance up to ₹50,000 for APL families
  • Up to ₹25 lakh assistance for critical and rare diseases under special health schemes

This ensures financial protection during medical emergencies.

Awareness Program Held in Bijapur

At a programme organized in the district hospital of Bijapur, Ayushman cards were distributed to rehabilitated youth. Officials also provided detailed information about available health schemes and how to effectively utilize them.

The initiative aims to ensure that beneficiaries are fully aware of their entitlements and can access healthcare services without difficulty.

Growing Confidence Among Rehabilitated Youth

Following the distribution of health cards and welfare benefits, officials reported a noticeable increase in confidence and optimism among rehabilitated youth.

Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government for supporting their transition and helping them move toward a stable and constructive future.

Government Push for Inclusive Development

Officials said the rehabilitation initiative is part of a broader strategy for inclusive development, focusing on social integration, healthcare security, and economic empowerment.

By connecting rehabilitated youth with welfare schemes, the government aims to ensure long-term stability and reduce the risk of re-engagement in extremist activities.

Building a Secure and Empowered Future

The Chhattisgarh government’s rehabilitation model reflects a holistic approach that combines welfare support, healthcare access, and identity documentation. Authorities believe these efforts will help rehabilitated youth become active contributors to society and lead dignified, self-reliant lives.
