Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service by announcing the construction of Seva Jyoti Sankalp Chowks at 38 locations across the state. Telibandha Chowk in Raipur will also be developed as one of these symbolic public spaces.
The announcement was made during a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha and Seva Jyoti Yatra organised at the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus in Raipur. The programme brought together public representatives, young people and citizens to mark Modi’s journey as a head of government and renew the state’s commitment to the Viksit Bharat vision.
38 Seva Jyoti Sankalp Chowks Across Chhattisgarh
Sai said the proposed Seva Jyoti Sankalp Chowks would represent public service, nation-building and the collective resolve to build a developed India.
The Chief Minister also administered a pledge to public representatives and citizens, calling upon them to actively contribute to the development of Chhattisgarh and India.
Following the programme, Sai led the Seva Jyoti Yatra while carrying a torch and flagged off a motorcycle rally. The yatra began at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University and moved towards Telibandha Chowk, with citizens and youth joining the programme.
The initiative is part of a broader campaign to connect public participation with the vision of a developed India.
Modi’s 25-Year Public Service Journey
Addressing the gathering, Sai said Narendra Modi assumed office as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, marking the beginning of a continuous 25-year journey as Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
Sai described the period as a journey centred on public service, good governance and development. He said Modi has consistently presented himself as the country’s ‘Pradhan Sevak’ and worked around the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.”
According to Sai, India has made progress across multiple sectors under Modi’s leadership, while the country’s growing capabilities have also strengthened its position globally.
He said the Seva Jyoti Yatra provides an opportunity not only to recognise Modi’s public service journey but also to encourage citizens to contribute to nation-building.
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Across the State
The Seva Jyoti programme forms part of the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, being organised across Chhattisgarh from September 17 to October 17.
The campaign includes activities related to public service, cleanliness, environmental protection, public welfare and social participation.
Sai highlighted the participation seen at the beginning of the campaign on September 17, when people across Chhattisgarh lit more than 1.5 crore ‘Ashirwad ke Diye’ and prayed for Modi’s health and long life.
The Chief Minister said the campaign is also encouraging people to participate directly in public service and nation-building activities rather than viewing development only as a government responsibility.
Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision @2047
Sai linked the state’s development plans with the national goal of making India a developed country by 2047.
He said Viksit Bharat @2047 should not be viewed merely as a government target but as a collective resolve involving citizens across the country. For Chhattisgarh, he said, this vision is reflected in ‘Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision @2047’.
The state government is working to bring different regions and sections of society into the development process and build a prosperous, self-reliant and developed Chhattisgarh.
Sai urged citizens to fulfil their responsibilities with dedication and contribute to the development goals of both the state and the country.
Sai Highlights Modi’s Connect With Chhattisgarh
The Chief Minister also highlighted Modi’s earlier association with Chhattisgarh, saying that before becoming Gujarat Chief Minister, Modi had travelled extensively across the state while handling different organisational responsibilities.
Sai said these visits gave Modi an understanding of Chhattisgarh’s geographical, social and economic conditions and its development potential.
He added that discussions with the Prime Minister on Chhattisgarh’s development have brought support and guidance to the state. According to Sai, the state is now connecting with new opportunities as it works towards strengthening its contribution to a developed India.
Focus on Global Investment and Opportunities
Sai also referred to his recent visit to Singapore and linked it to Modi’s vision of strengthening economic and institutional ties between Indian states and countries around the world.
Chhattisgarh and Haryana were selected by the Ministry of External Affairs to participate in the first Singapore-India Network for Growth (SING) Forum 2026.
During the visit, Sai said discussions were held with industry leaders, investors and business federations regarding investment and partnerships across different sectors.
He said the interactions reflected growing global confidence in India and highlighted opportunities in investment, technology, skills and innovation for states such as Chhattisgarh.
Citizens Urged to Join Nation-Building
Sai said the goal of building a developed India is ambitious but achievable through collective efforts. Referring to Modi’s call of “We will do it”, he urged citizens to perform their responsibilities with honesty, dedication and commitment.
He said every citizen has a role in building a developed nation and called for placing national interest at the centre of individual responsibilities.
Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agrawal also congratulated the people of Chhattisgarh on Modi completing 25 years in public service. He urged citizens to participate actively in the Seva Jyoti Yatra and contribute to the broader nation-building resolve.
The programme was attended by Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade, MLAs Sunil Soni, Motilal Sahu, Purandar Mishra, Anuj Sharma and Indra Kumar Sahu, Zila Panchayat President Naveen Kumar Agrawal, representatives of various corporations and boards, and a large number of citizens.
The statewide Seva Jyoti campaign therefore combines public participation, symbolic initiatives and Chhattisgarh’s long-term development vision, placing citizen involvement at the centre of the state’s Viksit Bharat push.
