New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has launched a set of skill development, educational support and welfare initiatives aimed at strengthening opportunities for the families of its serving and retired personnel.

The initiatives were launched by Sanrakshika, the CISF Wives Welfare Association, at CISF Headquarters in New Delhi on September 3. CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan and senior officers attended the programme.

Skill Development Programme Rolled Out

Under Sanrakshika’s ‘Saksham’ initiative, vocational training is being organised in collaboration with Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), a programme under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The initiative is designed to equip CISF family members with practical skills that can support self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Key details:

  • JSS skill development training has been introduced at eight CISF locations.
  • 13 batches have enrolled for the training so far.
  • JSS will provide trainers, equipment and tools.
  • CISF units will provide venues for conducting the courses.
  • Participants will receive certification aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).

The initiative builds on Sanrakshika’s broader efforts to improve the economic well-being of CISF families through vocational training and capacity building. A separate collaboration with Haldiram Skill Academy was also signed earlier this year to provide skill-development courses for CISF personnel and their families.

Concessional Coaching for Competitive Exams

Sanrakshika also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Drishti IAS to provide concessional coaching for Civil Services and other competitive examinations.

The benefit will be available to spouses and wards of serving and retired CISF personnel, as well as families of personnel who died in service. The concessional coaching arrangement covers new enrolments for the 2026-27 to 2028-29 academic years.

The coaching support covers examinations and programmes including:

  • UPSC Civil Services
  • Judiciary examinations
  • State PCS examinations
  • Teaching examinations
  • CUET

Wheelchairs Distributed to Divyang Wards

As part of the welfare component, Sanrakshika distributed wheelchairs to Divyang wards of CISF personnel to support their mobility and independence.

The initiative adds a direct welfare component to the skill-development and education measures announced for CISF families.

Focus on Family Empowerment

Addressing the gathering, CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan appreciated Sanrakshika’s initiatives and described the measures as steps towards the empowerment of CISF families.

The latest measures bring together vocational skilling, educational assistance and welfare support, expanding the family-oriented initiatives undertaken by the force and Sanrakshika.
