Sitanshu Shekhar Mishra Assigned to Chennai

Following his elevation to the rank of Inspector General, Sitanshu Shekhar Mishra has been posted to the South Sector Headquarters in Chennai.

Currently serving as DIG at the NCL Neyveli unit, Mishra has previously held key positions in several industrial and strategic establishments protected by the CISF.

He served as Senior Commandant and later DIG at the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) unit, where he played a significant role in strengthening security systems and operational preparedness within one of the country’s largest steel-producing facilities.

Known for Anti-Coal Theft Operations

Before his tenure in Bokaro, Mishra also served for an extended period at the CCL Kargali unit, where he led special drives against coal theft and illegal mining-related activities.

His efforts in tackling organised theft networks and strengthening industrial security earned recognition within the force and contributed to his elevation to the IG rank.

Vinay Kajla Gets Key Role at CISF Headquarters

Senior officer Vinay Kajla has also been promoted to Inspector General and posted to the CISF Headquarters in New Delhi.

He has been entrusted with the important responsibility of overseeing the Training and Recruitment Division, one of the force’s most critical departments responsible for manpower development, capacity building and induction of new personnel.

Kajla previously served as DIG of the BCCL Dhanbad unit, where he handled security management across coal sector installations and sensitive industrial assets.

DG CISF Congratulates Officers

Following the promotions, the Director General of CISF congratulated both officers and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to the force’s mission at higher leadership levels.

The officers have been encouraged to continue upholding the CISF’s core values of security, professionalism and public service while leading their respective formations.

Strengthening Leadership in India’s Industrial Security Force

The promotions come at a time when the CISF continues to expand its responsibilities across airports, metro networks, critical infrastructure facilities, industrial establishments and strategic installations.

The elevation of experienced officers such as Sitanshu Shekhar Mishra and Vinay Kajla is expected to further strengthen leadership capabilities within the force and support its evolving security mandate across the country.
