CM Dhami Approves ₹51 Crore for Helipads, Roads, Police Modernization and Infrastructure Projects

The sanctioned funds will support helipad construction, road widening, disaster management facilities, police upgrades, and judicial infrastructure development across multiple districts of Uttarakhand.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a total funding allocation of ₹51 crore for strengthening infrastructure facilities across several districts of the state. The sanctioned funds will be used for the construction and expansion of helipads, improvement of road connectivity, disaster management facilities, police modernization, and judicial and prison infrastructure.

The Chief Minister said that the development of roads, air connectivity, security systems, disaster management facilities, and basic infrastructure remains a top priority for the state government. He added that these projects will improve transportation in remote areas, accelerate disaster relief and rescue operations, strengthen administrative systems, and provide new momentum to Uttarakhand’s overall development.

Funds Approved for Helipad Development in Remote Areas

To improve air connectivity and emergency response capabilities, the Uttarakhand government has approved funds for the development of multiple helipad projects.

The approved works include:

  • ₹8.91 crore for the construction of a helipad at Beda-Majhera (Karimpur) in Bageshwar district
  • ₹1.08 crore for the construction of a helipad at Sunkundi (Jakhol) village in Mori block of Uttarkashi district
  • Funds for a 2-km approach road and helipad site development at Daun Parewa in the Nainital Assembly constituency

The government has also approved:

  • ₹8.30 lakh for the first phase of helipad site development at Daun Parewa
  • ₹50 lakh for pending electrical and civil works at the Sahastradhara Heliport, Dehradun PTB

These projects are expected to improve connectivity in difficult terrain and support faster emergency evacuation and disaster response operations.

Road Infrastructure Projects Get Major Boost

The state government has also sanctioned funds for improving road infrastructure under the state plan.

The approved road development projects include:

  • ₹2.64 crore for improvement and blacktopping work on the Munch-Tamli motor road to Kari motor road in Champawat district
  • ₹3.84 crore for reconstruction and improvement of the Lodhiya to Chaughu motor road (from 4.5 km to 9.5 km, covering 5 km) in Havalbagh block of Almora district
  • ₹16.87 crore for widening the New Cantt Motor Road in Mussoorie Assembly constituency, Dehradun, from a two-lane road to 10.50 metre width between Salawala Bridge and Vijay Colony Bridge

These road projects aim to improve transportation facilities, enhance connectivity, and provide better access to remote and urban areas.

Strengthening Disaster Management Infrastructure

To improve disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, the government has sanctioned funds for the construction of an SDRF post at Nainidanda village, Uthidagaon in Pauri Garhwal district.

An amount of ₹1.62 crore has been released as the first installment for the construction work.

The facility is expected to strengthen the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) network and enable quicker response during emergencies, especially in disaster-prone mountainous regions.

Modernization of Police Infrastructure Approved

The Uttarakhand government has also allocated funds for upgrading police infrastructure and equipment.

For the modernization of the Police Headquarters, approval has been granted for:

  • ₹15 crore out of the total sanctioned provision of ₹25 crore for machinery, equipment, plants, and furnishing works

The investment will help improve operational efficiency and strengthen security infrastructure across the state.

New Video Conferencing Facility at Tehri District Jail

The government has approved ₹2.14 crore for the construction of a video conferencing hall at District Jail Tehri.

The project includes:

  • Video conferencing cubicles
  • Necessary technical equipment
  • Supporting infrastructure

The first installment of ₹85.72 lakh has also been released for the project.

The facility will help improve judicial coordination, reduce logistical challenges, and strengthen digital connectivity between prisons and courts.

CM Dhami Focuses on Comprehensive Infrastructure Development

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that these infrastructure projects reflect the state government’s commitment to improving connectivity, public safety, disaster management, and administrative efficiency.The approved projects across Bageshwar, Uttarkashi, Nainital, Champawat, Almora, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, and Tehri districts are expected to support balanced development and improve essential services for citizens across Uttarakhand.
