CM Mohan Yadav Launches ₹587.23 Crore Development Projects in Ujjain, Announces Dhanwantri Medical University 

On Guru Purnima, CM Mohan Yadav launched Mission Buniyad across 500 government schools, announced 60 new Sandipani Schools and unveiled development projects worth ₹587.23 crore in Ujjain.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced the establishment of a new Dhanwantri Medical University in Ujjain and launched an artificial intelligence-focused ‘Mission Buniyad’ during the Maharshi Sandipani Guru Parv celebrations held on the occasion of Guru Purnima.

The Chief Minister said the combination of the traditional Gurukul system of education with modern science and artificial intelligence (AI) will help create a generation that excels in knowledge, character and nation-building.

During the event at Madhav Science College in Ujjain, Dr. Yadav also launched and inaugurated several education and development initiatives. He also laid the foundation stones and inaugurated nine development projects worth ₹587.23 crore for Ujjain district.

Dhanwantri Medical University to Come Up in Ujjain

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that a new Dhanwantri Medical University will be established in Ujjain.

He said Madhya Pradesh currently has a medical university in Jabalpur, but there is a need for another institution to meet the growing requirements of medical education in the state.

The new university is expected to strengthen medical education and healthcare-related academic infrastructure in the region.

The Chief Minister also said the state government is committed to supporting students at every level, from school education to higher studies abroad.

AI-Based Mission Buniyad Launched in 500 Government Schools

The Chief Minister launched Mission Buniyad, an AI-focused education initiative designed to bring artificial intelligence into classroom learning.

The mission will be implemented in:

  • 500 government schools
  • Across 8 districts of Madhya Pradesh
  • For students studying in Classes 9 to 12

Under the initiative, AI-based personalised learning will be provided to students to support their education and improve the learning experience.

Dr. Yadav described the initiative as the beginning of a new era in the state’s education system and highlighted the importance of combining traditional education with modern technology.

1,000 Primary Teachers Receive Appointment Letters

During the Guru Purnima celebrations, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav symbolically distributed appointment letters to 10 newly appointed primary teachers.

The event was part of the appointment process for around 7,500 newly recruited primary school teachers in the School Education Department.

According to the Chief Minister, appointment letters were provided to around 1,000 teachers from three divisions during the programme.

He said teachers would carry forward the legacy of Maharshi Sandipani and educate children with the spirit of the friendship between Lord Krishna and Sudama.

Six Principals Honoured with Sandipani Award

Six government school principals were honoured with the Sandipani Alankaran for achieving 100% results in Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for three consecutive years.

The Chief Minister announced that principals of all such schools in the state will receive:

  • ₹1 lakh as a recognition amount.
  • ₹5 lakh as an incentive for school development works, along with faculty members.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging better performance and creating a positive environment for improvement in school education.

60 New Sandipani Schools Announced Across Madhya Pradesh

On the occasion of Guru Purnima, the state announced 60 new Sandipani Schools across Madhya Pradesh.

These include:

  • 39 schools under the School Education Department.
  • 21 schools under the Tribal Affairs Department.

Dr. Yadav said these modern, fully equipped schools represent a contemporary version of India’s traditional Gurukul education system.

He said the government plans to spend around ₹25,500 crore on the construction of Sandipani Schools in the first and second phases.

The Chief Minister also noted that students from private schools are increasingly seeking admission to Sandipani Schools. However, priority is initially being given to students who have studied from Class 1 to Class 8 in government schools.

₹587.23 Crore Development Projects for Ujjain

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated and performed bhoomi pujan for nine development projects worth ₹587.23 crore in Ujjain district.

The major projects include:

  • ₹453.40 crore for the development and expansion of the Shri Kal Bhairav Temple complex, Shri Mangalnath Temple complex and Maharshi Sandipani Ashram.
  • ₹78.75 crore for the construction of the main campus of Maharshi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Ujjain.
  • ₹12.70 crore for the construction of three new library buildings in Ujjain.
  • Around ₹7.53 crore for a new laboratory building and other development works at Madhav Science College.
  • Around ₹550 crore for construction works under Ujjain Development Authority’s Town Development Schemes Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The development plan involving the Ujjain Development Authority has been named ‘Shri Krishna-Sudama Nagar’, and its bhoomi pujan was also performed during the programme.

The Chief Minister further said that the requirement for setting up a 1 MW solar power plant at Samrat Vikramaditya University, Ujjain, at a cost of ₹5 crore, would be addressed soon.

Geeta Bhavan Inaugurated at Madhav Science College

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated a newly constructed Geeta Bhavan Auditorium at Madhav Science College in Ujjain.

He said the Madhya Pradesh government has resolved to develop Geeta Bhavans in all urban local bodies across the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He added that separate Geeta Bhavans would also be developed by the Ujjain Municipal Corporation and the Ujjain Development Authority.

CM Highlights Link Between Gurukul Tradition and Modern Technology

Addressing the Maharshi Sandipani Guru Parv programme, Dr. Yadav said India’s greatest strength lies in its Guru tradition.

He emphasised that when the values of the traditional Gurukul system are combined with modern science and the capabilities of AI, it can help create students who are:

  • Strong in knowledge.
  • Excellent in character.
  • Committed to nation-building.
  • Equipped to contribute to a developed India.

The Chief Minister said the Sandipani Schools represent a modern and innovative form of India’s ancient Gurukul education system.

Ujjain Development Linked to Simhastha 2028 Preparations

The Chief Minister said development activities in Ujjain are progressing alongside preparations for Simhastha 2028 and the development of the Indore-Ujjain Metropolitan City.

He also highlighted the government’s recruitment initiatives across various departments.

According to Dr. Yadav, the government has decided to recruit more than 18,000 personnel in the police department over the past two years.

He said the School Education Department has also completed the recruitment process for 10,000 teachers.

Students and Education Initiatives Highlighted

During the programme, the Chief Minister released two booklets titled ‘Sarvang’ and ‘Shri Krishna Vidyanjali’.

Students who secured the highest marks in the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) examination were also honoured.

Dr. Yadav said the state government is providing various forms of support to students, including:

  • Textbooks.
  • School uniforms.
  • Bicycles.
  • Scooters for eligible students.
  • Financial support for higher education.

He also said Madhya Pradesh is providing substantial financial assistance for meritorious students pursuing medical education, including support towards fees for students who secure more than 75% marks.

Ujjain’s Infrastructure and Employment Opportunities

Ujjain MLA Anil Jain Kaluheda said infrastructure development is continuing across the city, including projects related to education, healthcare and connectivity.

He highlighted the construction of 24 bridges over the Shipra River, the Seevarkhedi-Silarkhedi project and the Kanh Duct Project.

He also said the city has received projects such as a new Geeta Bhavan and IT Park, which are expected to create local employment opportunities for students in the IT sector.

The Guru Purnima celebrations were attended by public representatives, saints, teachers, principals, officials and a large number of local residents. The Chief Minister also honoured saints and gurus and sought their blessings during the event.

Key Dignitaries Present at the Event

Several senior public representatives, government officials, educationists, saints, teachers and local residents attended the programme.

Those present included:

  • Om Jain, Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Housing Development Board.
  • Ravindra Solanki, Chairman, Ujjain Development Authority.
  • Mukesh Tatwal, Mayor of Ujjain.
  • Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Secretary, School Education Department.
  • Mahant Vidya Bharti.
  • Several public representatives.
  • Saints and spiritual leaders.
  • Principals and teachers.
  • A large number of local residents.

The participation of senior officials, public representatives, saints, educators and citizens added significance to the Maharshi Sandipani Guru Parv celebrations held in Ujjain.
