CM Vishnu Deo Sai Launches Shala Praveshotsav 2026-27, Takes Big Steps Towards Modern School Education 

At the state-level Shala Praveshotsav in Durg, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai distributed free books, uniforms and school bags, announced new hostels, sports facilities and modern education infrastructure to strengthen learning opportunities across Chhattisgarh.

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has emphasised the importance of quality education, scientific thinking, moral values, and equal opportunities for children during the State-Level School Entrance Festival 2026-27 held at Swami Atmanand Government Excellent English Medium School, Jamgaon (M), Patan block of Durg district.

Addressing students, teachers, parents, and officials, the Chief Minister said that education is not limited to achieving high marks but plays a key role in building a responsible society, a strong nation, and a developed Chhattisgarh.

He said the state government is committed to ensuring that no child misses educational opportunities due to a lack of resources and is working to provide modern infrastructure, technology facilities, and better learning environments.

CM Welcomes New Students, Encourages Them to Dream Big

The programme began with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai welcoming newly admitted students by applying tilak and offering sweets.

Interacting with children, he encouraged them to study with dedication, set ambitious goals, and use their knowledge, talent, and values to bring pride to their families, society, state, and country.

The Chief Minister said that the smiles of children and their dreams represent the foundation of a developed Chhattisgarh.

Free Books, Uniforms and School Bags Distributed to Students

During the event, CM Sai distributed free educational materials to selected students of:

  • Class 1
  • Class 6
  • Class 9

Students received:

  • Textbooks
  • School uniforms
  • School bags

Class 9 girl students were also provided bicycles to encourage them to continue higher education and improve access to schools.

Meritorious Students Honoured for Scholarship Achievements

The Chief Minister honoured students who performed exceptionally in the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination 2025-26.

He said talent is not limited by location or circumstances and that students can achieve great success when they receive proper guidance and opportunities.

Students honoured included:

  • Kumari Payal Rajni – First position in the state
  • Naitik Amte – Seventh position
  • Kumari Shraddha Indoriya – Tenth position

CM Sai congratulated the students and wished them success in their future endeavours.

Government Focuses on Smart Education and Modern School Facilities

CM Vishnu Deo Sai said the state government is transforming the education system according to future requirements.

Key initiatives include:

  • Smart classrooms in schools
  • Timely distribution of free books and uniforms
  • Additional nutritious food programmes
  • Regular parent-teacher meetings
  • Nyota Bhoj initiative
  • Education initiatives based on Indian culture and values

He said these steps are aimed at ensuring the overall development of students.

Teacher Rationalisation Ensures Schools Are Not Teacherless

The Chief Minister said major improvements have been made through teacher rationalisation.

He stated that currently no school in Chhattisgarh is without teachers.

The government is also focusing on improving education facilities in remote and tribal areas. Education hubs are being developed in areas like Jagargunda in Bastar to provide children in forest regions with facilities similar to those available in urban areas.

Chhattisgarh Expands Medical and Higher Education Facilities

CM Sai highlighted the expansion of higher education infrastructure in the state.

He said:

  • 15 medical colleges are currently operational in Chhattisgarh
  • 24 Nalanda campuses have been developed
  • A 200-seat hostel facility has been provided in Delhi for students studying there

These initiatives aim to provide better opportunities for students pursuing higher education.

Four Major Education and Sports Projects Announced for Durg

The Chief Minister announced four important infrastructure projects for Durg district.

The announcements include:

Modern Composite Office Building

A modern composite office building will be constructed for:

  • Joint Director, Education Department
  • District Education Officer
  • Block Education Officer offices

Modern Auditorium in Durg City

A fully equipped modern auditorium will be developed to support educational and cultural activities.

Football Ground and Athletics Track

A sports facility will be developed to encourage young athletes and provide better training opportunities.

NEET and JEE Preparation Hostels

Separate 100-seat hostels for boys and girls preparing for competitive examinations like NEET and JEE will be established.

CM Sai said these projects will create better opportunities for students in education and sports.

CM Reviews Astronomy Lab, Promotes Scientific Thinking

During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the school’s astronomy laboratory and appreciated models prepared by students related to space science and astronomy.

He said scientific thinking and innovation will define the future of India, and the state government is encouraging students’ interest in science and technology.

Plantation Drive Conducted Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign

CM Vishnu Deo Sai and School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav planted saplings of:

  • Jackfruit
  • Sindoori
  • Maulsari

under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.

The initiative promoted environmental conservation among students and the community.

The Chief Minister also participated in a Nyota Bhoj with students and interacted with them about their studies, interests, and future goals.

School Education Minister Highlights New Education Initiatives

School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav said the government is giving top priority to improving education quality across Chhattisgarh.

He highlighted several initiatives, including:

  • Expansion of computer education in schools
  • Construction of more than 8,000 toilets for girls
  • Special campaigns to improve language and mathematics skills
  • Connecting students with Indian culture and the lives of great personalities

He said the government aims to ensure that every student receives books and uniforms on the first day of the academic session in coming years.

Government’s Vision for Developed Chhattisgarh Through Education

The State-Level School Entrance Festival 2026-27 reflected the Chhattisgarh government’s focus on creating an education system based on quality, technology, innovation, and equal opportunities.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai said investment in education is the strongest foundation for building a developed Chhattisgarh and preparing the next generation for future challenges.
