CM Yogi Adityanath Launches ₹311 Crore Development Projects in Siddharthnagar, Hails District’s Transformation 

The Chief Minister inaugurates 46 projects and lays foundation stones for 61 others, highlighting the district’s rapid progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education and employment.

Siddharthnagar: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 107 development projects worth ₹311 crore in Siddharthnagar district.

Of the total projects, 46 projects worth ₹127 crore were inaugurated, while the foundation stones were laid for 61 projects costing ₹184 crore. The projects are aimed at strengthening development in the Dumariyaganj and Bansi Assembly constituencies.

During the programme, the Chief Minister also distributed symbolic cheques, housing keys, study materials, Ayushman cards, sanction letters and certificates to beneficiaries of various government schemes. He also visited the exhibition and participated in the Annaprashan ceremony for children. A short film highlighting Siddharthnagar’s development journey was also screened.

Siddharthnagar Emerges as Leading Aspirational District

CM Yogi said Siddharthnagar has made significant progress over the past nine years through efforts undertaken under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Chief Minister said the district has emerged as one of the leading performers among India’s 112 aspirational districts and has received a ₹25 crore award from NITI Aayog.

He said the district, which had previously lagged behind in areas such as education, healthcare, employment and agricultural development, is now progressing rapidly on the development front.

₹311 Crore Projects to Boost Local Development

The development projects launched during the programme cover various sectors and are expected to strengthen infrastructure and public services in the district.

Key figures include:

  • 107 total development projects
  • ₹311 crore combined project cost
  • 46 projects worth ₹127 crore inaugurated
  • 61 projects worth ₹184 crore foundation stones laid
  • Projects cover the Dumariyaganj and Bansi Assembly constituencies

The Chief Minister said there is no shortage of funds for development and that elected representatives and the administration are working continuously to accelerate infrastructure development.

Siddharthnagar to Benefit from Major Connectivity Projects

CM Yogi said Siddharthnagar is witnessing a new wave of development, with several major connectivity projects planned for the region.

A six-lane economic corridor, expandable up to eight lanes, is being developed from Gorakhpur through Siddharthnagar to Shamli. The corridor will also connect the broader routes towards Ambala and Siliguri.

Siddharthnagar will also be connected to the North-West and North-South corridors through routes covering areas such as:

  • Bansi
  • Basti
  • Ambedkar Nagar
  • Prayagraj
  • Chitrakoot

The Chief Minister also said land acquisition for an industrial corridor in Siddharthnagar has been taken forward.

Medical College and Healthcare Infrastructure Expanded

CM Yogi highlighted the expansion of healthcare infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, saying the state government is working towards the goal of one medical college in every district.

Siddharthnagar already has a medical college named after Madhav Prasad Tripathi.

The Chief Minister said that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh had 41 medical colleges, while the number has now increased to 83.

He also referred to the reduction in Japanese Encephalitis-related health concerns in Siddharthnagar and neighbouring districts, saying improved healthcare infrastructure has helped provide better medical facilities to children.

At the national level, he highlighted the increase in medical colleges and medical education capacity since 2014.

Focus on Youth, Skills and Employment

The Chief Minister said the government’s focus is to transform young people from job seekers into job creators by expanding opportunities in education, skill development, employment and entrepreneurship.

He highlighted initiatives such as:

  • Startup ecosystem development
  • PM Startup and Stand-Up initiatives
  • Digital India
  • PM Internship
  • Mission Rozgar
  • Skill development programmes
  • Expansion of ITIs and higher education institutions

According to the Chief Minister, around 17,000 skill development centres and more than 15,000 ITIs are currently operating across the country.

He also said the number of IITs has increased from 16 to 23, while the number of IIMs has risen from 13 to 22.

New Skills in AI, Robotics and Drone Technology

CM Yogi said the state government is preparing to introduce a new youth policy focused on employment, education and skill development.

Under the planned expansion of the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Coaching Scheme, students in every district will receive support for competitive examinations such as:

  • UPSC
  • UPPSC
  • NEET
  • IIT-JEE

The coaching system will include both virtual and physical classes.

Officials, doctors, engineers, bank officers and other professionals who have cleared competitive examinations will also be involved in mentoring students.

The government is also focusing on emerging technologies, including:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Drone technology
  • Robotics
  • 3D printing

In Siddharthnagar, two ITIs have already been linked with this initiative, while efforts are underway to include polytechnic institutions.

Black Rice and Buddhist Tourism to Get a Boost

The Chief Minister highlighted Siddharthnagar’s Kalanamak rice, which is included under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.

He said the rice is receiving good market prices and has witnessed strong demand. A Common Facilitation Centre has also been approved for Kalanamak rice in the district.

To promote Buddhist tourism, funds have been approved for a Buddha-themed park and a Vipassana Centre in Kapilvastu.

Government Jobs and Women-Focused Initiatives

CM Yogi said that more than 9 lakh young people have received government jobs in Uttar Pradesh over the past nine years, including youth from Siddharthnagar.

He also announced that the government is preparing to introduce the Rani Lakshmibai Scooty Scheme for meritorious female students.

The initiative is aimed at helping deserving girls, including those from economically weaker families, access educational institutions more easily.

The government is also distributing tablets to young people to help them access information about Central and state government schemes.

₹59,000 Crore Supplementary Budget Mentioned

The Chief Minister said the Uttar Pradesh government recently presented a ₹59,000 crore supplementary budget in the state Assembly.

According to him, provisions have been made for various sections, including:

  • Youth
  • Women
  • Poor families
  • Farmers
  • ASHA workers
  • Anganwadi workers
  • Village watchmen
  • Cooks
  • Fair price shop dealers

He also announced funding for several road projects in Siddharthnagar.

The Bansi-Mithuwan road will receive ₹28 crore for reconstruction, while ₹24.58 crore has been approved for the Barhadiya-Badhni-Chapa road in Dumariyaganj. Funding has also been approved for the damaged road connecting Badhia and Gola Bazaar in Itwa.

CM Yogi Attacks Opposition Over Youth and Development

During his address, CM Yogi Adityanath also targeted the Congress and Samajwadi Party, questioning their record on youth welfare and development.

He alleged that the two parties had repeatedly divided society and failed to create adequate opportunities for young people during their respective periods in power.

The Chief Minister said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has undergone major changes over the past 12 years, with growth in startups, higher education, healthcare, infrastructure and employment opportunities.

He also said that India has emerged as a major investment destination and is now positioned as the world’s fourth-largest economy.

CM Yogi Highlights Law and Order in Uttar Pradesh

The Chief Minister also spoke about the law-and-order situation in Uttar Pradesh, contrasting the current situation with the period before 2017.

He said the state has witnessed improvements in security and that people can now conduct their businesses and celebrate festivals without fear.

Referring to the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, he said millions of devotees have travelled to Haridwar and claimed that the government has ensured security and orderly arrangements for the pilgrimage.

Tribute to Freedom Fighters and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign

CM Yogi also recalled the contribution of freedom fighters while referring to the Kakori Train Action of August 9, 1925.

He paid tribute to revolutionaries including Ram Prasad Bismil, Roshan Singh, Ashfaqullah Khan, Chandrashekhar Azad, Rajendra Nath Lahiri and Sachindra Nath Sanyal.

He said the contributions of freedom fighters should be remembered and highlighted the importance of putting the nation above personal interests.

Ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day, the Chief Minister also urged people to participate in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and hoist the national flag at their homes.
