Why Temporary Mine Closure Plans Are Important

Such a plan helps ensure that appropriate measures are considered for maintaining site safety and environmental protection during the closure period.
CMPDI’s assessment for Amelia (North) Coal Mine incorporates both technical and environmental considerations to support responsible mine management during the temporary closure phase.
CMPDI Focuses on Scientific and Sustainable Mine Planning
The submission of the TMCP highlights CMPDI’s role in providing technical expertise for mine planning and closure-related activities.
By combining field-based assessments with technical and environmental evaluation, the institute aims to support scientifically planned and environmentally responsible mine closure practices.
The Amelia (North) assignment further reflects the importance of structured planning in managing mining sites during periods when operations are temporarily suspended.
