New Delhi: The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has invited citizens and organisations to become DAANVEERs and help strengthen digital infrastructure in Gram Panchayats.
DAANVEER is a people-led computer crowdsourcing initiative that allows individuals and organisations to donate desktop computers directly to verified Gram Panchayats through the Meri Panchayat App.
Simple Digital Donation
Citizens can use the app to identify eligible Gram Panchayats that need computers and choose any Panchayat they wish to support.
The process connects donors with DigiHaat, an ONDC-enabled digital marketplace. Donors can select standardised computer bundles, make digital payments and track the order from dispatch to delivery.

75 Donations Already Made
The initiative provides real-time tracking of the donation process. After the Gram Panchayat Secretary acknowledges delivery, donors receive a digital Certificate of Appreciation.
As of August 27, 2026, 75 computer donations had already been made under DAANVEER.
Boosting Digital Governance
The donated computers can help Panchayats improve digital work related to:
- Planning and financial management
- Record-keeping and citizen services
- Use of digital governance platforms
The initiative complements government programmes such as the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
Opportunity for CSR and Diaspora
DAANVEER also gives people living away from their native villages, including members of the Indian diaspora, philanthropic organisations and CSR partners, a direct way to support grassroots digital infrastructure.
With more states onboarding eligible Gram Panchayats, the Ministry said DAANVEER has the potential to develop into a nationwide movement for digitally empowered Panchayats.
The initiative combines voluntary public participation with technology-enabled transparency, helping citizens contribute directly to stronger local governance.
