Astrobase To Manufacture Advanced Rocket Engines

Astrobase is an Indian space technology company working on advanced rocket engines, reusable launch vehicles and indigenous propulsion systems.

One of its major developments is EVEREST, an indigenous Full-Flow Staged Combustion (FFSC) rocket engine.

The company describes EVEREST as an 800 kN-class engine, designed to support powerful launch vehicles and future reusable rocket systems.

The engine uses liquid oxygen and methane as propellants. This technology is being developed to improve rocket performance and support the development of reusable launch vehicles.

According to the company, its launch vehicle programme is designed to support medium and heavy payloads, helping meet the growing demand for commercial space transportation.

Astrobase Karnataka Rocket Manufacturing Facility To Support India’s Private Space Industry

The proposed manufacturing facility could become an important step towards expanding India’s domestic rocket manufacturing capabilities.

Rocket engines are among the most complex and expensive parts of a launch vehicle. Their development requires advanced engineering, precision manufacturing, testing facilities and highly skilled professionals.

By increasing domestic production capacity, Astrobase aims to strengthen its manufacturing operations and support the development of India’s private space ecosystem.

The investment also reflects the growing role of private companies in India’s space sector following the opening of the industry to private participation.

Companies working on launch vehicles, propulsion systems, satellite technology and space infrastructure are becoming important contributors to India’s future space ambitions.
