New Delhi: India defence manufacturing power was strongly highlighted by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during the North Tech Symposium 2026. Speaking at the event in Prayagraj, he emphasized that India’s military strength is now deeply rooted in its domestic defence industries. 

According to the official release, he credited indigenous weapons, MSMEs, and start-ups for shaping a self-reliant defence ecosystem. The success of Operation Sindoor further demonstrated the effectiveness of Made-in-India defence technologies and India’s growing strategic capabilities.

Rajnath Singh stated that India’s military strength is now built within the country itself. He explained that the power of the armed forces comes from domestic defence industries that are producing advanced systems and weapons.

Rajnath Singh described MSMEs and start-ups as the driving force behind India’s future growth.

He also linked their contribution to the long-term vision of building a developed India by 2047.

India is witnessing record growth in defence production and exports. Rajnath Singh stated that this progress reflects the emergence of a strong and capable “New India.”

The country is steadily reducing its dependence on imports and increasing its global presence in defence exports. This growth is also boosting investor confidence in India’s defence sector.

The Defence Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration between:

Rajnath Singh warned that defence technology evolves very quickly. He noted that modern systems can become outdated in a short time.

Therefore, India must continue investing in research, innovation, and technology upgrades to stay ahead.
