Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta carried out a surprise inspection of key transport infrastructure facilities in Burari, including the DTO office, Vehicle Inspection Unit, Vehicle Training Institute, and Automated Testing Station (ATS).
During the visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the quality of public services being provided and interacted with officials to understand the facilities available to citizens. She emphasized the need to ensure better service delivery and smoother functioning of transport-related offices.
CM Reviews Ongoing ATS Construction Work in Burari
The Chief Minister closely inspected the construction progress of the Automated Testing Station (ATS) project. Officials briefed her that the upcoming facility will significantly enhance vehicle testing capacity in Delhi.
According to the information shared during the visit:
- The ATS will be able to test five vehicles simultaneously
- It will have the capacity to conduct fitness inspections of 80,000 to 90,000 commercial vehicles annually
The Chief Minister directed officials to complete the project within the stipulated timeline and ensure that no compromise is made on construction quality.
Instructions to Improve Citizen-Centric Transport Services
While reviewing various transport centres, CM Rekha Gupta stressed that citizens visiting government offices expect convenience, transparency, and timely solutions.
She instructed officials to:
- Improve service quality across all transport departments
- Ensure time-bound completion of projects
- Enhance transparency in service delivery
- Make systems more citizen-friendly
She also made it clear that any shortcomings in administrative systems must be corrected immediately, and accountability will be fixed wherever negligence is found.
Emphasis on Accountability and Efficient Governance
The Chief Minister highlighted that thousands of people interact daily with the Transport Department, making it essential for all services to be efficient, responsive, and people-oriented.
She reiterated that the government’s goal is to build a system where every service is:

- Time-bound
She further stated that continuous monitoring will be done to ensure improvements and accountability in all transport-related services.
