New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday directed officials to ensure the time-bound resolution of public grievances after hearing complaints from residents during a Jan Sunwai (public hearing) at Jan Seva Sadan. The hearing covered a wide range of issues, including pensions, healthcare, education, property matters, Ayushman Bharat access, regularisation issues and government welfare schemes.

Reviewing each case individually, the Chief Minister instructed concerned departments to take prompt action and ensure that eligible citizens receive the benefits of government schemes without unnecessary delays.

CM Orders Immediate Action on Pension Complaints

Taking serious note of pension-related grievances, CM Rekha Gupta directed officials to examine every pending case individually and ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive their pensions within the stipulated timeframe.

Pension-related complaints have consistently been among the most common issues raised during public hearings, particularly by senior citizens facing delays due to documentation issues or administrative bottlenecks.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to:

  • Review every pension application individually.
  • Resolve pending cases without delay.
  • Ensure eligible beneficiaries receive pension benefits on time.
  • Prevent unnecessary procedural delays in future.

Residents Raise Healthcare, Education and Property Issues

Apart from pension-related matters, citizens raised several civic and welfare-related concerns during the hearing.

Major issues discussed included:

  • Healthcare services.
  • Education-related grievances.
  • Property and land-related matters.
  • Ayushman Bharat scheme access.
  • Property regularisation.
  • Government welfare scheme benefits.

After reviewing each complaint, the Chief Minister directed the respective departments to take immediate action and ensure timely disposal of all eligible cases.

Women Welcome Delhi Laxmi Yojana

A large number of women attending the public hearing expressed appreciation for the recently launched Delhi Laxmi Yojana, calling it an important initiative for women’s economic empowerment.

They said the scheme would strengthen financial security and promote self-reliance among women.

Responding to their feedback, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta thanked the beneficiaries and reiterated the government’s commitment to the holistic development of women.

She said the government remains focused on empowering women through welfare initiatives and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive scheme benefits without delay.

Government Targets First Delhi Laxmi Yojana Payment by Raksha Bandhan

The Delhi government launched the Delhi Laxmi Yojana portal on August 1, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta personally registering the first applicants during a programme in Geeta Colony.

The government has set a target of releasing the first instalment to eligible women by Raksha Bandhan, making timely application processing and verification a key administrative priority.

Jan Sunwai Strengthens Direct Citizen-Government Connect

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Jan Sunwai mechanism is not merely a platform for receiving complaints but a bridge of trust between the government and citizens.

She said the government is committed to providing:

  • Transparent governance.
  • Accountable administration.
  • Responsive public service delivery.
  • Time-bound grievance redressal.

According to the Chief Minister, every citizen’s complaint should be heard with sensitivity and resolved within a defined timeframe.

Jan Seva Sadan Enables Faster Grievance Redressal

The Jan Seva Sadan public hearing serves as a regular platform that allows Delhi residents to directly present their grievances before the Chief Minister while senior government officials remain present to issue immediate directions to the concerned departments. The government believes this mechanism speeds up decision-making, reduces procedural delays and improves accountability by enabling direct coordination between citizens and government departments.

CM Rekha Gupta reiterated that the Delhi government will continue to strengthen the grievance redressal system through regular Jan Sunwai sessions, ensuring faster delivery of public services and welfare benefits to residents.
