New Delhi: Delhi legislators have sought 15 days to submit detailed written feedback on the Master Plan for Delhi 2047 (MPD-2047), following a stakeholder consultation organised by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Tuesday.
The meeting brought together Members of Parliament and 33 Members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly to discuss key provisions of the capital’s latest master plan and challenges linked to its implementation.
DDA Briefs Elected Representatives
DDA Vice-Chairman N Saravana Kumar briefed the public representatives on various provisions of MPD-2047. The legislators appreciated the DDA’s efforts leading to the notification of the new master plan.
Discussions focused on major planning issues, including Transit Oriented Development (TOD), High Density Corridors (HDC), land pooling and unauthorised colonies.
The written feedback from elected representatives will help the DDA assess concerns and suggestions related to implementing the master plan.

Wider Stakeholder Consultation Planned
The consultation with MPs and MLAs marks the beginning of a larger stakeholder engagement exercise for MPD-2047.
Over the next three months, the DDA plans to hold around 20 stakeholder meetings involving groups connected with Delhi’s planning and development.
The consultations will include:
- Government agencies and service providers
- Industry bodies, architects and planners
- Residents and group housing representatives
- Farmers and landowners
- Market and trade associations
- Conservation and transport bodies
- Education and healthcare sector representatives
Key Planning Issues on the Agenda
Thematic consultations will examine several issues that will shape Delhi’s future urban development. These include land pooling, redevelopment of group housing, low-density areas and the Yamuna and blue-green zones.
The discussions will also cover heritage conservation, mixed-use and commercial areas, in-situ slum redevelopment, decongestion, and the development of education and medical hubs.
Focus on Better Implementation
The wider consultation process is intended to bring different stakeholder perspectives into discussions around MPD-2047. Feedback from elected representatives, residents, professionals, landowners and service providers can help identify practical challenges before major provisions are implemented.
With consultations planned across multiple sectors, the DDA is seeking broader participation in shaping Delhi’s long-term planning framework.
