Bengaluru: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired the annual performance review of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in Bengaluru, where Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) presented a dividend cheque of ₹934.47 crore to the Government of India for its equity holdings for FY 2025–26.

The cheque, comprising interim and final dividend, was presented by BEL CMD Manoj Jain during the review meeting.

Rajnath Singh Reviews Performance of Defence PSUs

The annual performance review brought together senior officials and leadership of Defence Public Sector Undertakings to assess their performance and contribution to India’s defence sector.

BEL Presents ₹934.47 Crore Dividend Cheque

During the event, BEL CMD Manoj Jain presented a dividend cheque worth ₹934.47 crore to the Government of India.

The amount represents the interim and final dividend on the government’s equity holdings in BEL for FY 2025–26.

The dividend payout reflects BEL’s financial performance and its contribution to government revenues while supporting India’s broader defence manufacturing ecosystem.

India Records ₹1.8 Lakh Crore Defence Production

Addressing the gathering, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted India’s strong growth in domestic defence production.

According to the Defence Minister:

  • India’s defence production reached approximately ₹1.8 lakh crore in FY 2025–26.
  • DPSUs contributed around ₹1.29 lakh crore to the total defence production.
  • The achievement marks significant progress towards building an Aatmanirbhar defence industrial base.

The record production reflects India’s growing focus on indigenous manufacturing and reducing dependence on imports in the defence sector.

BEL Highlights Indigenous Technologies and Innovative Products

During the performance review, BEL CMD Manoj Jain also apprised Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of the company’s latest innovative products and indigenous technologies.

The presentation highlighted BEL’s continued focus on developing advanced defence solutions through domestic research, technology development and innovation.

BEL’s indigenous technology initiatives are aligned with the government’s objective of strengthening India’s self-reliance in defence manufacturing and creating a robust domestic defence industrial base.

DPSUs Support Aatmanirbhar Bharat in Defence

The strong contribution of DPSUs to India’s record defence production underscores their role in advancing the country’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat objective in defence.

The performance review also provided an opportunity to highlight the technological capabilities and innovative work being undertaken by India’s defence public sector enterprises.

BEL’s dividend contribution and presentation of indigenous technologies further underline the company’s role in India’s evolving defence manufacturing ecosystem.
