DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Security Preparedness at Doda-Kathua-Udhampur Trijunction

J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat visited a joint security base in the Doda-Kathua-Udhampur trijunction area and reviewed operational preparedness, surveillance and counter-terror measures.

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday reviewed security arrangements and operational preparedness at a Joint Temporary Operating Base (TOB) in the strategically important Doda-Kathua-Udhampur trijunction area.

The Joint TOB is jointly manned by the Special Operations Group (SOG), Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). During his visit, the DGP assessed the prevailing security situation and reviewed counter-terrorism measures being carried out by the joint forces.

DGP Reviews Joint Security Arrangements

Nalin Prabhat was accompanied by senior police officers, including the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Deputy Inspector General, DKR Range, Deputy Inspector General, Udhampur-Ramban Range, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda.

The senior officers reviewed the security arrangements and operational preparedness of the forces deployed in the area.

The discussions also covered steps to further strengthen coordination among different security agencies, improve area domination and enhance surveillance across the region.

Focus on Vigilance and Counter-Terror Preparedness

The Doda-Kathua-Udhampur trijunction is a strategically significant area, making continued surveillance and coordination among security forces important for maintaining the security grid.

During the review, officers assessed the prevailing security situation and discussed measures to respond effectively to emerging security challenges.

The focus remained on maintaining operational readiness and ensuring that different agencies work closely together while conducting security operations in the region.

DGP Interacts with Deployed Personnel

During the visit, DGP Nalin Prabhat interacted with personnel stationed at the Joint TOB.

He appreciated their dedication, alertness and operational commitment while stressing the importance of maintaining vigilance.

The DGP also emphasised close coordination among the security forces to address emerging challenges effectively.

The interaction provided an opportunity to review the operational requirements of personnel deployed in the strategically important area.

Strengthening the Security Grid

The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies to maintain a robust security grid across vulnerable and strategically significant areas.

Joint deployment involving the SOG, Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF enables different security agencies to coordinate their efforts in areas requiring sustained surveillance and operational preparedness.

The latest review also underlined the importance of area domination and inter-agency coordination as part of the broader security strategy.

Continued Security Monitoring in Strategic Areas

Regular assessments by senior officers help security agencies review ground-level preparedness and identify areas where coordination and surveillance can be strengthened.

The DGP’s visit comes amid continued efforts to maintain vigilance in strategically sensitive parts of the region. The emphasis on coordination among the police, Army and central forces remains central to maintaining an effective security network.

The review also reinforces the importance of personnel readiness, surveillance and coordinated operations in responding to changing security requirements.
