Dhiraj Singh, a distinguished 1995-batch officer of the Indian Information Service (IIS), has been appointed as the Director of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. Singh, currently serving as Additional Director General (ADG) in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will assume this new role on a deputation basis for five years.
In his illustrious career, Singh has handled key portfolios, including the Prime Minister’s Office, President’s Secretariat, Vice President’s Secretariat, Union Cabinet, and NITI Aayog. He also oversees the government’s flagship magazine, New India Samachar, published by the I&B Ministry. His strategic involvement in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, particularly during Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore’s tenure as Union Minister of State in NaMo 1.0, highlights his expertise and dedication.
Singh’s academic credentials are equally impressive, with degrees from Allahabad University and Jawaharlal Nehru University. Known for his dynamic approach and ability to deliver results, his appointment as FTII Director is seen as a strategic move by the current government, reflecting their trust in his capabilities.
