West Bengal: RN Ravi, a former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 1976 batch from Kerala cadre and experienced national security official, has been appointed as the new Governor of West Bengal.
The move came after the resignation of former governor C. V. Ananda Bose just weeks before the state’s upcoming assembly elections.
