Bhuj, Gujarat: In a major push to strengthen skill development and create employment opportunities for youth, Adani Skills and Education (ASE) and the Government of Gujarat have signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to transform 11 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the Kutch region.
The initiative aims to reduce youth migration by equipping local talent with industry-relevant skills aligned with the region’s fast-growing industrial ecosystem.
Focus on Skill Development and Job Creation
Kutch is emerging as a major hub for renewable energy, logistics, and industrial infrastructure. The collaboration is designed to prepare local youth to actively participate in this growth by providing them with practical training and job-ready skills.
The MoUs were signed during the “Karm Utsav” event held at the GAIMS Auditorium in Bhuj, attended by over 650 students, educators, policymakers, and industry representatives.
Upgradation of 11 ITIs Under Gujarat Model
Under the partnership, the focus will be on upgrading ITI institutions through:
- Curriculum modernization aligned with industry needs
- Infrastructure development and modernization
- Teacher training and capacity building
- Hands-on and on-the-job training programs
- Industry-linked skill development modules
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between technical education and real-world industry requirements.
Government and Industry Leaders Emphasize Youth Empowerment
The event was attended by Gujarat Cabinet Minister for Labour, Skill Development and Rural Development Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya and State Minister Kantilal Amritiya, along with senior officials from the Adani Group. Bavaliya emphasized the goal of building a self-reliant workforce under the Skill India mission, while Amritiya highlighted that skilled youth are the true strength of the nation and play a key role in economic growth and nation-building.
Adani Group Calls Kutch Its ‘Karma Bhoomi’
Adani Skills and Education CEO Robin Bhoumic described Kutch as the company’s “karma bhoomi” and said the partnership aims to create an industry-ready workforce that supports long-term regional transformation. He added that collaboration with the Gujarat government and ITIs will help build a sustainable skill ecosystem aligned with industrial demand.
Skill2Employ Initiative and Student Recognition
During the event, students were given Skill2Employ invitation letters, while:
- 22 students received excellence certificates
- 30 trainers were awarded completion certificates under the Train-the-Trainer (TTT) program
Successful ITI graduates working within the Adani ecosystem also shared their experience stories, showcasing real-world impact.
Towards a Future-Ready Workforce in Kutch
The initiative focuses on simulation-based training and Centers of Excellence (CoE) to ensure students are job-ready from day one. The 10-point ITI transformation model developed by ASE is now being recognized as part of the broader “Gujarat Model” of skill development.
