Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Inaugurates Advanced Radiation Oncology Centre at Narayana Hospital Ahmedabad

Equipped with Halcyon Radiation Therapy System, the new facility offers integrated oncology services for comprehensive and precision-based cancer treatment.

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday inaugurated a new Radiation Oncology Centre at Narayana Hospital in Ahmedabad, marking a major step forward in strengthening cancer care infrastructure and treatment accessibility in the state.

The Chief Minister also reviewed hospital services during his visit and was briefed on the advanced medical technologies being used at the facility.

Equipped with Advanced Halcyon Radiation Therapy System

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the new centre is equipped with the Halcyon Radiation Therapy System, known for its high speed, precision, and image-guided treatment capabilities.

The technology is designed to deliver targeted radiation therapy while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues, thereby reducing side effects for cancer patients and improving treatment outcomes.

Integrated Cancer Care Under One Roof

With the addition of the new centre, Narayana Hospital now offers comprehensive oncology services, including:

  • Medical Oncology
  • Surgical Oncology
  • Radiation Oncology

This integrated setup enables patients from Ahmedabad and nearby districts to access complete cancer diagnosis and treatment in a single facility, improving convenience and continuity of care.

Key Dignitaries Attend Inauguration Ceremony

The inauguration event was attended by several prominent figures from the healthcare sector, including:

  • Dr. Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman, Narayana Health
  • Hemant Bhatnagar, Facility Director
  • Dr. Tasneem Nalwala, Consultant Radiation Oncologist
  • Doctors, hospital staff, and invited guests

Officials highlighted the centre as a significant addition to Gujarat’s expanding healthcare infrastructure.

Amit Shah Inaugurates Hostel Facilities in Ahmedabad

Separately, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated new boys’ and girls’ hostels at the Maa Umiya Dham campus, managed by Umiya Mataji Sansthan in Unjha, Sola (Ahmedabad).

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Cabinet Minister Rushikesh Patel were also present at the event.

The facilities will support accommodation for around 1,600 students, enhancing access to modern educational infrastructure for the community.

Amit Shah Praises Community Development Initiatives

Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah praised the Patidar community for its efforts in developing modern educational facilities and contributing to social progress.

He remarked that the transformation within the community is “remarkable” and that its progress in Gujarat is “unparalleled.”

Political Remarks Highlight National Governance Model

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Amit Shah also stated that following the BJP’s electoral victory in West Bengal, the party now governs nearly 80% of India’s geographical area.

He further emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India’s future is being shaped by its citizens, not by infiltrators, highlighting the government’s governance and national security approach.

Gujarat Strengthens Healthcare and Education Infrastructure

The twin events in Ahmedabad reflect the state’s ongoing focus on strengthening healthcare services and expanding educational infrastructure. The new oncology centre is expected to improve cancer treatment outcomes, while the hostel facilities aim to support student welfare and access to quality education.

Together, these developments underline Gujarat’s continued investment in modern infrastructure for health and education.
