Gandhinagar: The State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC)–Gujarat has advised bank customers to complete important transactions in advance and make greater use of digital banking services ahead of the three-day nationwide bank strike scheduled from September 28 to 30.
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has maintained its call for the strike following talks with the Indian Banks’ Association and the Department of Financial Services. The proposed action is expected to affect branch-based banking services, particularly at public sector banks.
SLBC–Gujarat, in coordination with its convenor bank Bank of Baroda, has asked customers to complete important banking work, including cheque-related transactions, by September 25 wherever possible. Customers have also been advised to assess their cash requirements in advance and use ATMs and cash recycler machines as needed.
Digital Banking Services to Remain Available
Customers have been encouraged to use internet banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATMs for routine transactions during the period when branch operations may be affected.

Digital channels such as UPI, internet and mobile banking, IMPS and ATMs are generally expected to remain operational during the strike, although physical branch services such as over-the-counter transactions and cheque clearing may face disruption.
Banks to Open on September 27
In a separate measure to reduce the impact of the strike and preceding weekend holidays, the Centre has directed all Public Sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks to function normally on Sunday, September 27. The RBI has approved the operation of bank branches, offices, ATM-linked branches and currency chests on that day.
The September 26–27 weekend, followed by the September 28–30 strike, could otherwise result in a prolonged interruption to physical banking services.
SLBC–Gujarat’s advisory is aimed at helping customers plan transactions beforehand and use available digital channels to minimise inconvenience during the period.
