Hindustan Copper Appoints Umesh Singh as Unit Head of Indian Copper Complex Amid Leadership Restructuring

Kolkata: State-owned mining company Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has announced a key leadership change, with Executive Director (Mining)  Umesh Singh taking charge as the Unit Head of the Indian Copper Complex (ICC) with effect from May 30, 2026.

The company informed stock exchanges through a regulatory filing submitted to BSE and NSE in compliance with SEBI norms.

Umesh Singh Takes Over Indian Copper Complex

According to the official disclosure,  Umesh Singh has assumed responsibility as Unit Head of the Indian Copper Complex, located at Ghatsila in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district.

The appointment follows an internal transfer order issued by HCL’s Corporate Office in May 2026. The Indian Copper Complex is one of the company’s key operational units, playing an important role in mining and metallurgical activities.

SEBI-Compliant Regulatory Disclosure

Hindustan Copper Limited stated that the appointment has been reported under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The company also clarified that  Umesh Singh is not related to any Director or Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) of the organisation, ensuring full regulatory compliance. The disclosure was signed by Company Secretary and Compliance Officer Mrityunjay Kumar Dev.

Strategic Move to Strengthen Mining Operations

The leadership change comes as Hindustan Copper Limited continues to focus on improving operational efficiency and expanding production capacity across its mining units. With extensive experience in mining operations, Umesh Singh is expected to enhance productivity and support the company’s long-term growth strategy at the Ghatsila-based complex.
