Leopard Conflict Mitigation in Focus: One-Day Departmental Workshop and Training to be Held at Delhi Secretariat

The Delhi Secretariat is set to host a crucial one-day departmental workshop and training session on Leopard Conflict Mitigation, aimed at addressing the growing concerns surrounding human-leopard interactions. Scheduled for the 6th of May 2024, the event will take place at the Auditorium on the Ground Floor of the Delhi Secretariat.

The schedule for the day is packed with insightful sessions and discussions, beginning with a welcome note by the Deputy Conservator of Forests (HQ) and a special token presentation for esteemed guests. The event will feature an address by Dr. Suneesh Buxy, the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, shedding light on critical aspects of leopard conservation.

Highlighting the session will be talks on Leopard Conflict Mitigation by Sh. Sunil Limaye, a retired Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, and Dr. Vidya, providing invaluable insights into managing human-wildlife conflicts effectively.

After a brief High Tea break, the afternoon will witness presentations by prominent figures in the field, including Sh. Nikit Surve, Sh. Virat Singh, and Ms. Dipti Humraskar, offering diverse perspectives and strategies for mitigation efforts.

The event will culminate with an End Note, followed by a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors for their valuable insights and commitment to wildlife conservation.

With a focus on collaborative efforts and innovative approaches, this workshop aims to foster a deeper understanding of leopard behavior and promote sustainable coexistence between humans and wildlife in the region.
