New Delhi: The Department of Posts (DoP), under the Ministry of Communications, has signed an agreement with Blue Dart Express Limited to strengthen parcel delivery services and expand logistics connectivity across India.
Signed in New Delhi on October 9, 2026, the partnership will combine India Post’s nationwide postal network with Blue Dart’s express logistics capabilities to support parcel deliveries across urban, semi-urban and rural areas, including remote locations.
The collaboration is also aimed at supporting the growing e-commerce sector through improved delivery coordination, technology integration and access to a wider delivery network.
India Post’s 1.64 Lakh Post Offices to Support Blue Dart Deliveries
Under the agreement, Blue Dart will use the Department of Posts’ network of more than 1.64 lakh post offices to extend its parcel delivery reach across the country.

Key service features include:
- Nationwide last-mile connectivity: Access to India Post’s network will support deliveries in urban, semi-urban and rural areas, including underserved regions.
- Prepaid and cash-on-delivery parcels: The arrangement covers both prepaid and cash-on-delivery (COD) shipments.
- OTP-based authentication: One-time password verification will be available for delivery authentication.
- Real-time tracking: Shipment tracking will help customers monitor parcel movement.
- Technology integration: The partnership aims to improve coordination between the two organisations and streamline parcel movement.
The agreement is intended to combine the reach of India Post with Blue Dart’s logistics operations to provide parcel delivery solutions across a wider geographical area.
