Mumbai: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil), a Government of India undertaking and Maharatna company, has appointed Dr. Alka Mundra as an Independent Director on its Board, effective August 15, 2026.
The appointment has been made in accordance with a letter issued by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MOP&NG) on August 12, 2026.
The appointment was disclosed by IndianOil under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Dr. Alka Mundra Appointed Independent Director
Dr. Alka Mundra, aged 52, brings a multidisciplinary academic and professional background covering Political Science, Law, Public Policy, Governance and Social Development.
Her appointment is expected to add diverse expertise to IndianOil’s Board, particularly in areas related to governance, public administration, social empowerment and community development.

Dr. Alka Mundra’s Academic Qualifications
Dr. Mundra has an academic background spanning political science and law.
Her qualifications include:
- Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur
- LL.B. from Vidyapeeth, Udaipur
- Ph.D. in Political Science from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur

IndianOil has confirmed that Dr. Mundra is not related to any other Director of the company.
The company has also stated that she is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any order of SEBI or any other authority.
The appointment follows the direction communicated by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and is effective from August 15, 2026.
