RPF Mitigated More Than 19,000 Complaints, Saved Over 200 Lives, and Reunited Over 500 Children in January 2024

Under its illustrious “Nanhe Faristey” program, the RPF reunited 549 lost children with their families
The Railway Protection Force (RPF), powered by its dedicated personnel and visionary missions has registered numerous milestones to its name. It played a pivotal role in reunifying more than 549 ragamuffins with their families. All these vulnerable children had been detached from their families for a gamut of reasons, however, owing to the RPF’s flagship “Nanhe Faristey” program, were successfully and safely returned to their homes. In a display of unwavering swiftness and agility, the RPF saved the lives of 233 passengers from getting caught under the wheels of moving trains (while boarding or alighting) in January 2024, under their pristine operation “Jeevan Raksha.”
Under the phenomenal “Meri Saheli Initiative,” as many as 229 Meri Saheli teams ventured inside 13,615 trains and augmented the security of 4.1 lakh lady passengers. While doing so, they brought 7402 persons under the book after they were caught traveling in coaches reserved for women passengers. The RPF cracked down on black marketing of railway tickets by seizing tickets worth Rs. 44.46 lakhs. In an unprecedented move, the RPF detained over 76 individuals and seized narcotics and drugs worth Rs. 4.13 in January 2024. The perpetrators were then handed over to concerned agencies for further prosecution.
Furthermore, under the August initiative ‘Yatri Suraksha,’ the RPF played a pivotal role in detecting and curbing criminal offices directed towards railway passengers. They did so by apprehending over 225 criminals who harassed passengers and handing them over to the concerned GRP/Police for correctional measures. Under the profound initiative of Operation Sanraksha, the RPF was successful in steering clear of potential railway accidents by detaining 53 individuals who indulged in stone pelting on running trains. Under the August initiative Operation Seva, the RPF upheld its altruistic values by assisting over 227 elderly, sick, or injured passengers during their rail journey.
Under Operation Satark, the RPF seized illegal tobacco products and liquor worth Rs. 30.15 lakhs and detained 86 individuals. The RPF also seized unaccounted cash worth Rs. 1.53 crore, gold worth Rs. 37.18 lakhs, and silver worth Rs. 11.67 lakhs during their operations. In a bid to facilitate the passengers’ security concerns, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) mitigated over 19,738 complaints handed to them via the “Rail Madad Portal and the integrated Helpline” (No. 139 with Emergency Response Support System No. 112) January 2024.
