In a significant development, senior IPS officer Dr. Shamsher Singh has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF). The appointment comes as part of a recent order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Sunday.
Dr. Shamsher Singh, who is currently serving as the Director General of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Gujarat, will assume his new role in the BSF. The competent authority has approved his appointment, which will be effective from the date of assumption of charge. His tenure will run until his superannuation on March 31, 2026.
Dr. Singh, an officer of the 1991 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS) from Gujarat cadre, has earned recognition for his dedication to law enforcement and his leadership within the Anti-Corruption Bureau. His new role in the BSF underscores his exemplary career in public service and his continuing contribution to national security.
