Indian Masterminds Stories

Dehradun: The Central Government has officially accepted the resignation of Rachita Juyal, a 2015 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Uttarakhand cadre. The Uttarakhand Government has also issued formal acceptance orders, marking the end of her distinguished tenure in public service.

Juyal had submitted her application for Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) a few months ago, citing personal and family reasons.

Career Highlights: From Vigilance to Governor’s ADC

Before her resignation, Rachita Juyal was serving as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vigilance. Known as a dynamic and upright officer, she led several high-impact investigations during her tenure.

She was ADC to the Governor of Uttarakhand and later went on central deputation to the Intelligence Bureau.

In a recent high-profile case, her vigilance team arrested the ISBT outpost in-charge for accepting a bribe, drawing commendation for swift action.

Personal Background and Family Ties

Rachita comes from a family with a policing background. Her father also served in the police, which greatly influenced her career path.

She is married to film producer Yashasvi Juyal, who is the younger brother of popular actor-dancer Raghav Juyal. Her marriage into a well-known entertainment family had drawn attention, although she maintained a low public profile.

Who is IPS Officer Rachita Juyal?

Ms Juyal, a well-known IPS officer from Uttarakhand’s 2015 batch, has submitted her resignation after completing 10 years of service, citing personal reasons. Her sudden departure has sparked widespread discussion in the state. Known for her integrity, she recently made headlines as SP Vigilance by exposing corruption within the police department, including a case involving a sub-inspector. She served in Almora and Bageshwar districts and took action against several corrupt officials.

A native of Dharampur, Dehradun, Rachita holds a BBA and MBA and cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam in her first attempt at age 29. She is the eldest of three siblings and the daughter of former police inspector BBD Juyal. In 2021, she married filmmaker Yashasvi Juyal, brother of actor-dancer Raghav Juyal. The final approval of her resignation is pending from the Central government.

Reason for Resignation: Family and New Prospects Ahead

While her official reason for seeking VRS is personal and family commitments, sources indicate that Rachita Juyal may be exploring better opportunities in the private sector or international institutions.

Her departure has come as a surprise to many in Uttarakhand’s administrative and police circles, where she was seen as a rising star.

Public and Professional Response

Colleagues and officials who worked closely with her have expressed admiration for her professionalism, especially during her stints in vigilance and intelligence. Many have noted that she leaves behind a legacy of clean governance and strong leadership.
