A group of IPS probationers from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) is set to visit the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Uttar Pradesh to gain practical insights into managing large crowds. The visit, scheduled for the first week of February, will be accompanied by an instructor from the academy.
The trainees will observe the arrangements made for the event, which attracts millions of attendees from around the world, and study the security measures and strategies implemented for crowd control. They will also interact with senior officials from the Uttar Pradesh administration to understand the extensive planning and groundwork behind organising such a massive event.
As part of its training curriculum, the SVPNPA organises study tours to significant events across the country to provide IPS probationers with field exposure. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently emphasised the importance of this initiative, encouraging the academy to send its trainees to learn from the public safety efforts at Maha Kumbh 2025.
