New Delh: The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in collaboration with the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), have launched a three-day training programme titled ‘AI Champions for Digital Governance’ to promote the use of artificial intelligence in governance and public sector administration.
The programme was inaugurated at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi, with senior officials from various Central Ministries, government departments, and Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) participating to understand the practical applications of AI in improving administrative efficiency.
Senior Officials Highlight Role of AI in Improving Governance
The inaugural session was addressed by several senior officials, including:
- S. Radha Chauhan, Chairperson, Capacity Building Commission (CBC)
- Vivek Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism
- Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE
- Mugdha Sinha, Managing Director, ITDC
- Ganesh Shankar Mishra, Joint Director, LBSNAA
During the launch, speakers highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence in transforming governance, improving public service delivery, and increasing productivity within government organisations.
They emphasized that AI adoption can help institutions make faster decisions, automate routine tasks, and create more efficient systems for citizens.

The three-day initiative has been structured to provide participants with both strategic knowledge and practical AI skills.

- Future-ready administrative practices
The following two days are dedicated to managerial-level officers, featuring intensive hands-on training sessions.
Training Covers Generative AI, Automation and Data Tools
The practical sessions under the programme will focus on the application of AI in daily government operations.
Key areas include:
- AI-assisted office productivity
- Intelligent data extraction
- Automation tools
- Generative AI applications
- Predictive analytics
- Machine learning solutions
The programme aims to help officials understand how emerging technologies can improve workflow efficiency, decision-making, and service delivery.
AI-Enabled Leaders to Drive Digital Transformation
Officials from multiple Central Ministries and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are participating in the programme, reflecting the increasing focus on technology-driven governance.
ITDC and SCOPE said the initiative aims to create a network of AI-enabled leaders who can promote digital innovation across government institutions and public sector organisations.
The programme is also aligned with the Government of India’s vision of developing future-ready institutions through the responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
