Ranchi: Jharkhand is moving beyond its traditional identity as a mineral-rich state and aiming to establish itself as a leading centre for Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud technology and digital governance.
During the National Stakeholders Consultation 2026 held at Taj Palace, New Delhi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a high-level meeting with senior representatives of global technology giants including Google, IBM and Microsoft to discuss building a strong digital ecosystem in the state.
The meeting focused on transforming Jharkhand into a key destination for emerging technologies, innovation, investment and technology-driven governance.
Jharkhand Shares AI Policy 2026 and Digital Transformation Roadmap
During the consultation, the Jharkhand government presented its Draft AI Policy 2026 and the roadmap for the proposed State AI Mission.
The government highlighted plans to use artificial intelligence and advanced technologies across multiple sectors to improve governance, create employment opportunities and accelerate economic growth.
The discussions focused on developing a technology ecosystem that supports:

- Cloud infrastructure.

Five Key Pillars of Jharkhand’s Digital Growth Strategy
The state government discussed five major areas to build a future-ready digital ecosystem.
1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Jharkhand plans to promote AI adoption in governance, industries and public services.
The proposed AI framework aims to develop innovative solutions that improve decision-making, efficiency and service delivery.
2. Digital Governance
The government discussed ways to make public services:

The state explored opportunities to modernise government infrastructure through cloud technology.

Special emphasis was given to preparing Jharkhand’s youth for global technology opportunities.

5. Ranchi IT Park to Attract Technology Investment
The proposed Ranchi IT Park was highlighted as a major opportunity to attract investment from technology companies, startups and innovation-based industries.
The government invited global companies to participate in Jharkhand’s growing digital ecosystem.
CM Hemant Soren Highlights Shift from Mines to Minds
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said Jharkhand’s identity should not remain limited to its mineral resources but should also be recognised for its intellectual strength, research capabilities and innovation.
He said the state government is working on policies that promote:
- Industrial growth.
- Employment opportunities.
- Innovation.
- Inclusive development.
The Chief Minister emphasised that technology-driven growth will play an important role in achieving the goals of Jharkhand Vision 2050.

Senior representatives from leading technology companies participated in the consultation and shared suggestions for strengthening Jharkhand’s digital ecosystem.
