Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Approves Residential School and Hospital for Martyrs’ Children and Police Families in Ranchi 

Hemant Soren clears major education and healthcare projects including Shibu Soren Residential School at Jaguar campus and 100-bed upgradeable hospital for police families in Hotwar, boosting welfare and infrastructure in Jharkhand.

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has chaired a high-level meeting at the Jharkhand Secretariat to review key welfare projects for the families of martyred police personnel, army soldiers, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel.

A major decision was taken to construct the “Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Residential School” at the Jaguar campus in Ranchi, aimed at providing world-class education and residential facilities for children from Classes 6 to 12.

World-Class Residential School for Martyrs’ Children

The proposed residential school will be developed as a School of Excellence, equipped with modern infrastructure and smart learning facilities.

Planned features include:

  • Separate hostels for boys and girls
  • Smart classrooms
  • Library and ICT labs
  • Modern sports facilities and playgrounds
  • Residential and academic support systems

Hemant Soren directed officials to immediately identify land at the Jaguar campus and ensure timely commencement of construction work.

He emphasized that delivering quality education to martyrs’ children is a top priority of the government, with zero compromise on standards.

Modern 50-Bed Hospital for Police Families in Hotwar

In a parallel decision, the government also approved the establishment of a modern hospital for police families at JAP-10 Hotwar in Ranchi.

Key highlights of the project:

  • 50-bed hospital in the first phase
  • Expansion capacity up to 100 beds
  • Operation under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model
  • Availability of specialist doctors
  • Modern medical equipment and facilities

The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure timely execution and high-quality healthcare services for police personnel and their families.

Focus on Infrastructure Development Projects in Ranchi

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed several ongoing infrastructure projects in the capital city, including:

  • Siramtoli–Kantatoli connecting flyover
  • Proposed Karamtoli–Science City–Chirondi flyover

He directed officials to expedite land acquisition processes and accelerate construction work to ensure timely completion of these projects.

Strengthening Social Welfare and Monitoring Systems

Hemant Soren reviewed multiple welfare schemes under departments such as Women and Child Development and Social Security, including:

  • Mission Shakti
  • Mission Vatsalya
  • Child care homes
  • Old age homes

He instructed regular monitoring of NGO-run programs to ensure transparency and effective implementation.

Working Women Data Base and SAKHI Nivas Expansion

The Chief Minister directed officials to develop a comprehensive database of working women in the state under Mission Shakti.

He also reviewed the SAKHI Nivas scheme, which provides safe and affordable accommodation along with daycare facilities for working women.

The initiative aims to strengthen women’s safety, mobility, and employment opportunities.

Push for Digital and Online Education in Jharkhand

Hemant Soren emphasized the need to promote digital and online education across the state.

He also suggested:

  • Expanding nursing education infrastructure
  • Operating nursing colleges under welfare departments
  • Strengthening employment-linked skill development programs

Officials noted that the healthcare and nursing sector offers significant job opportunities for youth.

Senior Officials Present in Key Meeting

The high-level meeting was attended by top state officials, including:

  • Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar
  • Home Secretary Vandana Dadel
  • Health Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh
  • DGP Tadasa Mishra
  • Senior officials from education and police departments

Officials confirmed that the DPR for the residential school has already been prepared and land identification work is in its final stage.

Jharkhand Government’s Vision for Inclusive Development

The decisions mark a significant step toward strengthening education, healthcare, and social welfare for security personnel families. The government’s focus on modern infrastructure and digital transformation reflects its broader vision of inclusive and sustainable development in Jharkhand.
