Jharkhand Govt Holds Second Round of Talks With Students Over JPSC, JSSC Exam Irregularities

Jharkhand JPSC JSSC Exam Irregularities: The state government held a second round of talks with protesting students in Ranchi, with examination reforms and transparency emerging as key issues.
Indian Masterminds Stories

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government on Saturday held the second round of talks with representatives of student organisations over alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations. The meeting comes as students continue their protest and hunger strike in Ranchi, demanding concrete action on their concerns.

The latest discussions were held at the State Guest House in Ranchi between a special ministerial committee constituted by the government and representatives of different student organisations.

Government Assures Students of Examination Reforms

The talks were held in a positive atmosphere, with government representatives assuring students that comprehensive reforms would be considered to make the examination system more transparent and reliable.

The government has also opened an official feedback email channel to collect suggestions from students and other stakeholders.

The suggestions will be examined before the government takes a final decision under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The government’s approach includes:

  • Seeking suggestions directly from students and other stakeholders.
  • Reviewing concerns related to the examination system.
  • Considering comprehensive reforms to improve transparency.
  • Taking a final decision after examining the feedback received.

Students Continue Protest Despite Talks

Although student representatives expressed satisfaction with the discussions, they have not withdrawn their agitation.

They said their peaceful protest would continue until the government takes concrete decisions on their demands and issues formal orders.

The students have been protesting in Ranchi for several days, with some protesters also observing a hunger strike.

Their key concern remains the alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC and the demand for a transparent examination process.

CID Steps Up Investigation

The CID has intensified its probe into alleged examination irregularities, summoning three serving Commission members for questioning. The investigation aims to establish the facts and ensure accountability in the recruitment process.

Political Pressure Intensifies

The controversy has also triggered political reactions.

Union Minister Annapurna Devi has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren over the government’s decision to conduct the examination through a blacklisted company.

The demand has added a political dimension to the dispute, while the state government continues its efforts to engage with protesting students.

What Happens Next?

The second round of talks has kept the dialogue between the government and students open, but the dispute has not yet been resolved.

The immediate focus will now be on the government’s response to the suggestions submitted by students and stakeholders and whether formal decisions are issued on their demands.

Three developments will be particularly important:

  • Government action: Reforms and formal orders on the issue.
  • Student protest: Continuation of hunger strikes and demonstrations.
  • CID probe: Findings on alleged exam irregularities.

For thousands of government-job aspirants in Jharkhand, the outcome of the dispute is significant. A transparent and credible recruitment examination system is essential to ensure fairness and restore candidates’ confidence in the selection process.
