New Delhi: Delhi high court senior advocate designation has been awarded to 85 lawyers, including 11 women, following a decision taken by the Full Court on July 9, 2026. The designations were approved after a detailed selection process involving hundreds of applicants. The new list reflects the court’s recognition of experienced advocates who have made significant contributions to the legal profession.

The Delhi High Court has officially conferred the prestigious Senior Advocate designation on 85 advocates. The decision was taken during a Full Court meeting held on Thursday evening. Out of the 85 lawyers selected, 11 are women, marking an important step toward greater representation in the legal profession.
How the Selection Process Worked
According to the Delhi High Court, 231 advocates applied for the Senior Advocate designation. The applications were examined and scored by the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates. After completing its evaluation, the committee forwarded the recommended names to the Full Court, which approved 85 candidates. While 86 applicants met the eligibility criteria, the Full Court finally cleared 85 names.
